My friend has that engine on a 1981 Volvo 264! I have seen the square plug. I believe he replaced the drain plug also. I believe it called B28F in the Volvo. Very reliable engine as he drives it every day.

FunFact...the engine ,,,the PRV engine is a collaboration effort..between Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo...hence the name PRV :) So in many ways ..it is definetly more of a french engine..than a swedish engine :) Anyways...very nice video man.Thank you so much again.Greetings from the NorwegianCarMetalViking , Stefan :)

Also; I have had good results so far with Royal Purple Synthetic 15-40 Diesel oil in my 42 dodge towcar. Good thickness when cold, and it hasn't lost that purple color yet.
@davidbublitz65715 жыл бұрын
A lot of the Delorean engines still have there original seals. So putting synthetic in them has a tendency to make them leak. So it's not recommended by the experts. So we err on the side of caution.
@A-stray425 жыл бұрын
@@davidbublitz6571 Very true of older dodge flatheads, also. I was turned on to this by a mechanic friend that had used it in the past for a old forklift with the same flat 6.

I often wonder why no one changes the engine as so many say the thing is useless.
@DZ302-Z285 жыл бұрын
Because it ruins the vehicle. You don't hear all of those LS DeLorean swaps talking about how it tears up their suspension or how the car is running 3 to 5 years later. The prv 2.8 L V6 is fine, unless you want to drag race though you wouldn't by DeLorean if that's what you want to do
@dcformee1235 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob I had a question for you I noticed on the DeLorean that the raised white lettering on the tires was turned inward and I was curious why it's like that? Because on the movie version of course you know it had raised white lettering with eagle GT's on it Goodyear. so I was just wondering why you don't just have those cheap raised white lettering tires out works or at least give it the same kind of look? if you ever buy some tires for it don't buy those cheap ones get you some good years on there love the vids keep up the great work

Hey ya just gotta love the PRV for what it is. I think if they went with a wankel as legend has it. I think it would be more problematic after all these years. Plus when you enter a parking garage and a Delorean owner or enthusiast is in earshot of the sound of a PRV in a Delorean they have to find it.

Hi mate, i really love to your videos but that engime is not Volvo based, the PVR stands for Peugeot Volvo Renault and was developed by a joint venture between the three brands all together and used all along the three brands.

Ya need a smoke generator on it like a big time one.... as you fly down the highway, suddenly there's a cloud of smoke... and it's gone... lol Ya got to have some fun. there's no sense in owning something like this if you're not having fun with it. Life's too short. Frankly this idea that you change oil by the calendar is bullshit propogated by the companies that sell oil. If it ain't dirty or contaminated, why the hell change it?

Just saw you on pawn stars and you said that you sold this thing for over $100,000 and one day ago you posted this with your DeLorean. So I’m confused did you actually not sell it or did you just buy another one and do it again. Really thought that the pawn stars tried to scam you both times I’m glad you walked away each time. Really the pawn stars should be called the scam stars.
