The most elegant and talented player I have ever seen. A fine blend of supreme technique, intelligence and awareness. He could do everything in an attacking sense, be it passing, dribbling, body feints, finishing, long shots, chips, set-pieces... His first touch was out of this world, and sometimes it was difficult to know what his best foot was simply because his left foot was so precise. There have been more flashy players, but I would take Baggio's elegance, artistry and effectiveness over those that do a million step-overs any day of the week.

Same here. I was gutted for Baggio and Italy because the team was severely lacking creativity in the middle of the pitch with the likes of Tommasi, Cristiano Zanetti and Gattuso. Trap had a great defence and could easily have chosen to play Baggio in behind Vieri and Totti (or Totti behind Baggio). Pirlo should also have been taken.

There hasn't been any Italian player more talented than Roberto Baggio. There's no discussion. Too bad he didn't won the World Cup. But he's bigger and better than Del Piero, Totti, Rossi, etc. Same with Maldini, not world champion, but one of the best defenders of all time, and certainly the best in Italy. Baggio was simply something else. A pleasure to grew up watching him play football

Tanti narratori del calcio (guarda caso sempre non juventini, tipo Marani) stanno ormai ricordando sempre meno il periodo del Baggio bianconero, quasi come non ci fosse stato. Invece in quegli anni Baggio voleva dire Juve! Infatti a USA 94 fino a quando non si sbloccò veniva insultato in quanto juventino (poi si sbloccò, spense i motori dell'aereo e ci portò in finale). Dalla sciarpa raccolta a Firenze passarono 5 anni in cui era diventato l'idolo assoluto della tifoseria, l'unico per cui gli ultras manifestarono sotto la sede affinchè non fosse ceduto. Il giorno dello scudetto lo stadio era pieno di striscioni che invitavano la società a non venderlo (si vedono anche nel video), e lui disse più volte che voleva restare. Baggio andava spessissimo ad esultare sotto la curva mandando baci ai tifosi. Era legato a Lippi (basta guardare l'abbraccio di Dortmund). Insomma... tutto quello che è venuto dopo è stato il frutto di incomprensioni ad personam (Lippi) e di un'abile campagna mediatica di chi voleva "appropriarsi" di Baggio quasi "cancellandone" il passato bianconero. In parte ci cascò anche lui, che è una persona buona. Il sogno sarebbe un giorno rivederlo allo Stadium per riapplaudirlo e fare partire il coro che la Sud intonava per lui...
