Mr. Molinelli -- this is a MARVELOUS rendition. Utterly gorgeous; just the perfect amount of restraint. Your playing allows Casadesus's great melodies in this movement to flow seamlessly from your viola to the listeners' heart, and I'm most grateful to you for your stunning musicality and years and years of hard work to become the vehicle for this level of beauty.

This movement is hauntingly beautiful and a joy to play. One thing I've never understood about music from earlier time periods is why they wrote pieces in such low tempos, compensated with smaller subdivisions of the beat per note. What is a sixteenth note in this piece could be an eighth note at double the tempo. Is there an advantage to the way it's written?

I had never heard that version with the Cadenza... might as well look for the sheet music and add it to my playing of the piece

Fine performance of one of the most beautiful slow movements for viola. Casadesus composed it and it has nothing to do with J.C.Bach
@RobertoMolinelliChannel5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Casadesus himself allowed this mistake, on purpose, as he (and his brother Marius, who wrote similar compositions in-the-style-of) never declared clearly that they were the composers. Probably because of consequent criticism that could have been arisen, at that time.
@MrFpam5 жыл бұрын
@@RobertoMolinelliChannel I am well aware of that. As far as i know Casadesus eventually admitted that he had written this piece and also that Marius had composed the socalled Handel Concerto and the Mozart "Adelaide" Concerto.

It was all so beautiful but this guy coughing his lungs up was a bit disturbing
@eppiehemsley65563 жыл бұрын
It was. I don't think the coughing was part of the score.
