Because the glass harmonice, while uncommon, is not a unique instrument. Meanwhile I must congratulate roberttiso on _not_ showing up on that show. Sure, the European versions are not as horribly scripted as the US version but I would not trust them. The first few seasons in Sweden did see some real talents from different areas, not all of them singers, but what I have seen from Britans version lately (have not followed any of them, byt KZbin...) there are too much emphasis on drama and too little emphasis on talent.

I've been to Britain's got talent but it didn't go very well. One of the judges (the bad guy) told me that if he ever saw me on TV he would change channel immediately and anyway my performance was not even shown on TV. My talent was considered below expectations, but you can see for your self by checking out other acts that I could be well into the average. Do you think in America it would be different?

Words don’t come close to describing the talent it takes to perform this piece on liquid filled glasses. The précision involved is immense, from using the right type of glass, to filling each precisely for correct tuning, to the fine touch used to bring the tones to life in such an astounding way. This musician is beyond talented, he’s absolutely gifted!

Except that tuning via adding water, and worrying about the tuning changing via evaporation is not longer necessary. (Some KZbin videos show glasses with water...but most have none.) When buying a glass harp vs adapting regular crystal glasses into a set, the glasses themselves are pre-tuned to the desired frequencies, based on the size, thickness of the glass, and grinding to fine-tune, so no water is needed & the tuning is stable. Also, in these custom "instruments" the glasses are blown to have short stems and wide bases and they are constructed to all be the same height, all for stability & ease of playing. In addition, they come with a custom base for added stability, and professionalS will pay extra for special cases to facilitate safe transportation. Of course, such a set glasses costs more than assembling a set of random glassware: A Polish couple "GlassDuo" that manufactures & sells sets of 30 glasses charges about USD$4,000 for them, including the base, but not the carrying case...that's over $100 each for the largest glasses, though purchasers get a 25% discount if replacements are necessary.

Idk if you can really call his talent.. like i would be offended if someone said i have a talent for art. What i mean is that i put a lot of work into what i wanted to do, im not a natural, and assuming my art is a talent is like saying that i put no effort into my work. I know you still have to work to improve talent, but many assume its just something you magically have, when in reality in most cases its the dedication of someone that causes them to succeed, not something like talent which may or may not be real~

@@oskey5301 they can hear higher pitches yeah, but they can't distinguish between tones like we can. which means music doesn't really sound like music to them. a constant, nice rythm has effects on them though, which is why classical music calms them even though they don't "get" music (where hard rock would make them anxious because of the screaming and what not)
