We hit up the Outrider to fish for bluefin tuna and yellowtail. We hit up the Cortez Banks day 1 and San Clemente day two for the Jumbo Bluefin Tuna. We hooked 12 Big ones but only landed two of them. Enjoy!

No shit. Its usually the wrong advice or directly contradicts what the professionals (Captain and crew) have to say. Ugh.

San Clemente is the hot bite right now. I've never seen Bluefin caught at anchor before; always on a drift but at least there's the yellows in between. I'm doing a 2.5 day on The Legend next Friday hoping to go south for yellowfin. Always enjoy your videos.

I could be wrong but I think there's a place called desperation reef or ridge near San Clemente and for some reason it's best to anchor up there if you can. Good luck on your trip!

Hey Rob, good to see another new video from you! That looks like a pretty good trip, and I was just as bummed as you were to lose that big bluefin. Everything has to be just right sometimes, including drag, hook, hook set, gear, and how you tie the hook. Last year I had a bite and didn't even get to fight it as it broke my hook off within seconds. Still, you caught some nice yellows at least!

Don't feel bad, it happens to everyone. I know you're a great angler. With big bluefin luck has a lot to do with it.
