How to Search for Rare Bills and Star Notes in Paper Money

I'll be looking through $1000 worth of $1 Bills from my local bank. All 10 of these $100 $1 Bill straps were made by bank tellers, also known as teller straps. I typically have better luck when searching federal reserve notes strapped by the Federal Reserve rather than by the bank employees. We're hoping to find more rare star notes, any valuable old bills, or any fancy or cool serial numbers in these circulated stacks of bills. I hope you enjoy this bit of bill hunting with me. Between 1992 and 1996, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing experimented to see if a web press that used continuous rolls of paper was quicker and cheaper than intaglio printing, which uses flat sheets. The notes produced were dollar bills from Series 1988A, Series 1993 and Series 1995. Real cool video Rob, not the best of finds for $1,000 in ones😖 Just like metal detecting, the enthusiasm, curiosity and fun is there always!!! Crazy enough, this is the first time I remember hearing about a birthday note! I love that, so many people are sentimental. Not a bag hunt Rob. I'm personally still on the search for a $1 star note from Philadelphia, I'm pretty sure the last run that was printed for Philadelphia was back in the Series 2003, so definitely a tougher bank to find.

I like the bill hunts not a lot of smaller denomination bills to search here in Canada except for the 5 dollar note. There was talk of a 5 dollar coin for Canada but that seems to have been put on hold for now.

That 1977A note was printed in October of 1980. You would have been 6 years old at the time.

I can’t believe someone would pay $400 for a star note but I guess there’s all kinds of collectors. I only got several with six serial number is the same, radars, and some from 1957 and later. Don’t see many from the 1900s anymore. I found some 1950 $10 and $20 bills in the past but I sold them. The coin shop wouldn’t give me much over face value for them.
