No comparison, the new Insta360 Ace Pro is the clear winner. Better color, details in the shade are better. GoPro has over-sharpened the sharpness within the camera...looks too fake. Rob, great presentation.

Flip up screen is a nice feature, but using it for action, like mountain biking, skiing and etc. Flip up screen will be a weak point in those situations.

Go-Pro had the action camera monopoly for a long time. But all they do now is pump out a new camera each year that isn’t a massive step or anything new and still plagued with bugs. This is the fall of Go-Pro. It’s great to see what the other competitors can bring to the table.

Hello! thanks for the vid - its super helpful, I've been debating over the action4 as a first timer action cam for indoor interior decorating/DIY vlogging. I was put off by the night time and low light results. I also didn't want to get the pocket 3 because it looks too flimsy and where there are power tools around I didn't trust it, especially as it doesn't have a case yet. The insta pro looks perfect for what I need but cannot find the online manual - does it have manual settings? I thought I saw a "cinematic' setting on another review, can you confirm manual and the cinematic or other style settings? Finally are the ND filters worth getting for motion blur? Thanks again!!

I have a very in depth video on this camera alone coming tomorrow But There’s no “cinematic” settings. You have manual settings and auto settings. The camere does also offer “motion nd”(motion blur) from the studio and mobile app

D-log is not important, i love it tho, but storytelling is key. Also Ace Pro does not have 10-bit flat

Now, I wondered if you could help, I’m looking for the dimensions of the lens just because I hoped the Freewell ND filters for the RS ONE might fit PRO ACE? 🙏🤞 if the RS ONE filter dimensions are: 35x35x32.6mm / 1.4x1.4x1.3in I got this from insta360 but it doesn’t have the same info for the ProAce. 😃

My only concern about acepro is how linear horizon leveling compares with GoPros horizon block in terms of fov. Is it narrower? Thx in advance for the reply and congrats, it’s a great video.

Scratch or break the lens and you have a very expensive paperweight.. apparently the production models lens covers are not replaceable.

I can’t say anything about production models, but mine has a removable lens. There will be lens covers/nd/wide angle supported soon i assume, which will help on that part

True. It´s also because GoPro has heavier sharpness to "medium & high" than the Ace, but with some corrections in post they might look even more similar

Hero 12 has been on sale at $349 in the U.S. for several weeks. I think GoPro just needs a new update sooner than later. They will lose a lot of ground, probably already started with the Action 4, and now with this Ace Pro, another very strong contender. Contender? Probably more like better options now. If either the Action or Ace goes on sale, though may not see a sale on the Ace Pro for some time, that's what I will get. GoPro, with their glitching and overheating issues still, not even in consideration anymore.

You can turn camera off with voice command, not on. But it has bluetooth awake if you use a remote(apple watch/insta remote)

you can't choose to shoot in HDR, it's automatic.

Yes, normal 4k video has active hdr 24/25/30. However, free frame video does not have hdr so you can use 4k 24/25/30 here
