Although resolutions aren't a linear comparison, there isn't a massive difference between 2.7k and 1440p (2.5k). It will make a difference to some, and kudos to the Go 3 for having improvement. The action pod is a very interesting idea, and I expect that it will be a success. Dual mics are a good addition. The screen makes this a less carefree camera to just toss in a bag than the Go 2. All in all, a good next generation Go and what will be the go-to for many. For me, the Go 2 is perfectly fine given the price bump to get a Go 3, and the fact that I have other cameras that start to be the better choice when I need a screen, more resolution, or more battery.

The Go 2 has no disadvantages. Picture quality and stabilisation is superb, never experienced overheating, haptic feedback, gorgeous, lifhtweight little case and camera which feels great in the hand. Controls so easy to nsvigate. No screen but the joy of these little cameras is the feeedom from screens. Just point it at what you want to film and that wide angel lens will get your shot. I've never run out of battery either. That little charger case keeps topping it up all day for 100's of clips.

Great comparison, the GO 3 seems to be a nice upgrade from the GO 2, but with substantial bump up in price. Since I don’t have a need for POV style camera, I’m waiting for the DJI Pocket 3. Thanks for sharing.

Disappointed My first impression is disappointment. For me, the beauty of the Go 2 was being easily pocketable. Being lite and slightly larger than an AirPod case, it was with me constantly. The case on the Go 3, while offering increased functionality, is chunky and heavy. I cannot imagine putting it in my pocket. Not to mention that I’m sure the lens cover would be scratched. In addition, leaving out haptic feedback was a big mistake. I depended on vibration to know when we turned on/off the camera. Much of this can be addressed by third parties. The Go 2 sticky mount and 1/4 mount were my most used accessories. We need Go 3 versions. We also need some sort of simple case or cover so the Go 3 camera unit can be carried in a pocket and avoid damage. As for haptic feedback, nothing can be done. Frankly, I am at a loss as to Insta360 strategy. It seems like they want to turn the Go X line into a wannabe GoPro.

In my eyes the Go 3 is a good evolution and I have the impression Insta360 is doing a good job to decide where to improve. But there are only little improvements from my point of view. Video quality is too close and also the sound. Selling the Go 2 and getting a Go 3 (especially if you have invested a lot into accessories) is not a good option from my point of view. So will stay with my Go 2 (till it dies or Go 2 comes out 🤔)

Ok. It appears that it’s human error on my part lol. The “Quick Capture” settings refer to when the Go3 / action pod are off like on the old Go 2 and you are limited to Photo, Video and Freeframe. The “Go 3 Button” settings are for when the Go 3 is on a mount and switched on. And then you get the full range of shooting modes. So basically you can use the action pod for an additional capture and not as a separate capture if that makes sense
