wicked wicked wicked, when i first heard this track in '79 i swore blind that the singer was a black woman!! i only discovered many years later when the same robin beck did a song for coca cola that robin beck was white!! - that aside have so many memories of hearing this track along side tracks like "put your feet to the beat" - Ritchie Family or groups such as Starguard, Taste of Honey etc..............

Tuuuune! I agree with young Samuel's comment.I soooo did not think that anyone but a Black woman could sing this.What a Tremendous song.Proper 'feel good' track,perfect for any outdoor gigs that I will be attending this Spring/Summer. Respect To You Robin Beck,TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNE!

This did rather well in the clubs, not so much on radio. She had to wait some nine years for the Coca-Cola jingle, and the resulting 45 ("The Very First Time") was a #1 in the UK. She has had a successful career in Europe.

As much as this was a one hit, I wish First Time was successful here in the States...She and Manowar are like the same. Successful outside of their domestic country.
