Yes, the end of The BeeGees and almost the end of Robin as well. Robin was forevermore changed,.. and not in a good way. Mo's death took a terrible, terrible toll on poor Robin.💔 Of all the horrible things that could have ever happened to Robin, I am sure he never imagined this.😧 I absolutely Hate that he had to go thru losing Mo. Nope, he kept going, but he was NEVER the same Robin again.

I can imagine the pain he went through. I was 19 years old when my mom passed away from cancer. She was 41 years old. I had always been a mama's girl and my world turned upside down. Robin was right. Time does not heal all wounds but it makes it a little easier to cope. When you lose a loved one you lose part of yourself. At least I did. This year will be 40 years since my mom died. And now I am fighting cancer myself. Robin has died himself by now. There will never be another band like the BeeGees. They stayed humble no matter what. They graced us with their music and talents. What a gift they were.

Robin so rarely allowed anyone to witness his vulnerability. But his emotional and mental pain is exposed here. OMG. Losing Mo, and ultimately losing Barry as well, brought Robin down to the frigging mat!! He was down for the count as they say. Took a hell of a lot to break Robin. And even though he kept going,....he was never the _same_ Robin again.😢

@@raffaellavitiello1762 Yes. I am very aware that Barry is Alive. When I stated that Robin lost Barry too, once his twin Mo had died, I meant that Barry pulled away from Robin and never really worked with Robin again. They did do a couple of performances here and there, but a WALL had come between him and Barry. Robin kept reaching out to Barry, but Barry remained cold and distant. Even pissed off when Robin had arranged a tribute for his twin Mo. Of course Robin wound up cancelling it to appease Barry. Lot of good that did. Very Sad and horrible time for Robin once he lost Mo.

Robin speaks the truth, and says it as it is. It comes in waves and can last a lifetime. Robin is sharing his feelings to help others, always thinking of others even in his darkest hour. RIP dear Robin, on a gorgeous blue island with Mo, Andy, ma and pa Gibb.

Bless his heart. He was totally destroyed for the rest of his life. I remember watching him decline with despair as there was obviously no way back for him after Mo's death. However, he eloquently described the way he was feeling which for Robin was not an easy thing to do at all. He did move on to do so much good for others in the short 9 years he had left, using each day to its fullest . A wonderful , spirited, caring, deep and unique man . They broke the mould when they made him.

Maurice's death was the beginning of his illness. Robin's heart was psychologicaly broken. The death of a twin is unbearable in a different degree. @susieq9801
@susieq9801 3 жыл бұрын
@@rainiedayzproducestand6693 - I was a nurse who cared for AIDS patients. Robin died of cancer, (actually the cancer was in remission but he died of renal and liver failure possibly exacerbated by the strong chemotherapy he received)) not HIV. Barry did say others had spread all kinds of stupid lies about his illness but he said it WAS cancer. So did his physicians. People love nasty gossip. When did Barry "hint" it was HIV? Where is the quote? There is none. Respect my ass. (BTW, it's "utmost", not "up most") Robin's paternal grandfather and great grandfather both died of colorectal cancer which has a genetic factor. Robin also had the same twisted intestine as his twin, also hereditary in the sense that the twins shared uterine conditions when it develops although it can present at any time in life. Robin's only similar symptom to AIDS was weight loss....also typical of cancer. He was always thin and also obsessive about his vegan diet and such people tend to be very thin. Such a diet is not a wise choice for people with gastrointestinal defects and it weakened him so he had no biological reserves to fight the cancer. He was diagnosed with malnutrition when admitted to hospital. Robin did NOT show typical symptoms of AIDS such as Kaposi's tumors (very noticeable on the person's skin) which are very evident in HIV patients. Also, the incubation period is from one to ten years so he would have had to contracted it by @2002 at the VERY earliest and even at that time, in fact since the 90's, there were treatments available that could arrest the disease and decrease the viral load so it was not even detectable or transmissible. Furthermore, he had a child during that time and would never have done so if he had HIV. Robin was malnourished, his vegan diet was not healthy for someone who had gastric surgery in 2010, the same surgery that ended in Mo's death. Because of what happened to Mo, he delayed tests doctors wanted to do because he was afraid of what they would find. That sealed his fate. By the time they did it was too late and cancer had spread to his liver. He was frail and the chemo weakened him further and he died of renal and liver failure. THE END!!!! People like you need to stop spreading crap about others. Remember he has four children who hear the garbage you are spreading. SHAME ON YOU!

OMGosh I can't even get over my cats I have lost over the years, or my VW camper van, or parents I hardly felt close to, the finality of death is something we all have to grapple with. With the Bee Gees, the loss is not just music but of the depth of soul and the felicity of the sound they brought to ANY piece of music they wrote or sang. The word ineffable is my fave to describe them, the absolute indescribable phenomenon of how they wrote songs but couldn't read or write music, had no formal training, how they could write for any genre, spellbinding gifts from God.

Robin and Barry were lost after Mo's death. The bridge between them was forever gone. They became irredeemably 'two continents apart'. Barry felt like stopping everything, but Robin kind of found an escape through work. Barry seemed to be aware of what Mo's death would mean to them, but you can feel that Robin refused to accept that. There was always a kind of thinly disguised despair in his way in his last years. It's strange, but it seemed that either he felt he wouldn't stand much longer after his twin's death, or he really started to die (although he tried to hide it) from sadness. As the brother's 'harmonist' was gone, he was alone. The Bee Gees were over. Music, their guide and their strengh throughout life, would never be the same again.

@@LivingLife9295 , You are so right. Yesterday I was going through boxes of curtains and it was a very hard day. I don’t think we ever stop missing them. I still miss Gene and my sister so much. My sister and I would talk on the phone all hours of the night. We were night owls. I am almost 70 and I will never get back to the person I was with them. One blessing is I have a new beautiful granddaughter three months old, and that pulled me up a bit. I had to soften up for her. I’m sorry about your grandmother. We need to remember our precious memories. Take care, Kelly. ❤️🌹❤️

Losing a twin sibling is in some ways worse than losing a spouse because there's a bond that exists before birth. He lost his other half in a way. I think this was worse than his divorce and even worse than losing his younger brother Andy. I actually commend this interviewer for the way he handled this interview with Robb. Very compassionate and understanding.

Robin lost his closest connection in life when he lost his twin. I think Robin felt completely loved and accepted unconditionally by Mo. And Robin was so right in that grieving and always missing somebody you loved dearly is a lifelong sentence. How I wish that Robin could have been spared this terrible, terrible loss.💔

I just wanna offer this to whoever needs it. The concept that we all belong to God and to Him we all shall return. It removes much of the unbearable pain of losing when we know that people or things aren’t truly ours in the first place. They are gifts from God to beautify our life and a source of ease and comfort, or sometimes given as a test. By submitting to this fact, the will of God, we will achieve peace.

@gloriamaryhaywood2217

@@bevwal5120 That's certainly been speculated about. Although I think Mo could have hung a bit better than poor Robin did. As Mo was much more social and seemed able to easily intergrate friends into his everyday life. But I think Mo was one of the Only people with whom Robin felt totally accepted and loved unconditionally. Mo's death was the start of a terrible downward spiral for Robin. Don't think he could ever come to terms with his twin being gone. He once stated that he lived in two realities. One, in which he understood that Mo was no longer here, no longer on this earth. And the other, where Mo just Couldn't be gone! Robin was a sad shadow of himself once Mo had passed. He ran and ran from his grief by working himself Damn near to death. Barry was right on one thing; in his eulogy for Robin, Barry stated that Mo's death did All Sorts of things to Robin. I try not to watch too many videos of Robin once Mo was gone. No matter how well he tried to disguise it, the enormous loss of Mo left a heavy imprint on Robin. I'm remembering another interview (several years after Mo's passing) where Robin stated that sometimes he feels that he's accepted Mo's death and moved on, and then suddenly, BOOM!,... it's like it happened Yesterday! I've said it before that Mo's death was the death toll for Robin as well. It just took another 9 punishing years to finally finish him off! So Damn Sad.

@@gloriamaryhaywood2217 This is so what I love about Robin and Maurice. They loved each other UNCONDITIONALLY. Please pardon the capital letters. I feel in my heart of hearts that Robin felt very comfortable with Maurice. In fact, I believe Robin felt safe with him because he didn't have the fear of Maurice being judgmental towards him. I could be wrong, but I just have this feeling that this is true.

@@Farrah300 When asked about that Rob often said he felt a stronger musical link between the 3 of them equally, rather than the "special" twin's bond with Mo. but i share the same feeling as you. It seems like from that loss on he began to decline spiritually and physically. Maybe only his huge willpower made him last 9 years more. Just wondering, in what way Robin changed after Mo died... I know he threw himself into work to try and keep some balance. I can't imagine his pain. candlelight - I know a lot about the Bee Gees and Rob in particular. Have you never heard the comment, “wow, I can’t imagine!” when one can’t fathom something?? That’s what I meant. His pain was so deep, one simply can’t believe it. He breaks my heart. I saw the physical affect afterwards, but it was not so evident at this point, only three or four months after losing Maurice. I thought Barry’s comment was odd. My opinion.
