Rob is such an inspiration. Someone who really impacted me and made me want to make videos to inspire others. I kind of didn't like how they brought the dumpster food and pizza slice. That's not what dumpster diving is about. It's not about eating garbage. Its about how people are throwing GOOD food in the garbage. Obviously the timing would need to be right, and you would need to get stuff "fresh"? They also focused so much on the toilet paper and poop (humanure). They had this insanely inspirational incredible human on stage and it felt like the show focused on how "weird" the things he has done is. Maybe I'm in a but of a crusty mood, but I feel protective of Rob, and didnt appreciate that.

Good to see you in Quebec! I'm not a fan of talk shows, not a fan of Julie Snyder and I wish they made it a bit more serious... but it's good to get some visibility. The people here who understand English (75% ?) will get it, and the rest will have more or less accurate subtitles, and hopefully get some good out of it too!

It's great to see you addressing this topic with humor for what seems to be the first time. Would have been great if there were other languages for subtitles, apart from just French, given that about 30% of the time they spoke in French.

Rob, you are a good sport, thick skinned, and have clearly conquered your ego.... they seem to to be making fun of you in the "dumpster diving" sequence. You just went along with it and did not get ruffled.

Yeah... it's just pure dumb entertainment for most people watching, but I'm sure at least some people searched for Rob afterwards. I really can't identify with this type of humor that is here in Quebec, but as long as it's harmless.

Except the message was largely recieved as how weird this guy is, because they focused entirely on the super controversial things he has done, and to me it seems like they missed the entire point. Rob's entire point for this is how its possible to living outside the systems we think we depend on - the systems that are killing the planet. The hosts and audience main takeaways are: here is a guy who eats garbage and wipes his butt with tiny leaves. Hahaha what a weird dude. Honestly, I felt angry watching that. They missed the entire point, and used Rob as a prop for slapstick humor level jokes. Not to compare Rob to Ghandi, but it would be like interviewing Gandhi and spending the whole time talking about his silly robe and bare feet.

@@CanadianPermacultureLegacy I agree. I think they should have, at the very least, provided a back story so that viewers know the "why" behind Rob's missions; so they could see the bigger picture of all the inspirational and admirable things he has done. Then interjecting some humour in context and contrast to the big picture would have been fine if that is the angle they felt they needed to take. I think Rob's composure and good- natured approach was such that viewers could see that he had much more to say, though. But with the language barrier and show structure, was not given opportunity. Hopefully that, alone, inspired more people to look further into his work and to learn more about him.

He's He's a badass. I would have absolutely lost my shit. These people need to watch, Just Eat It and get a fucking clue. The world is being destroyed because society is brainwashed to consume consume consume. With money they DON'T HAVE AND MUST borrow borrow borrow. Luckily my family came from europeans. Two grandparents met after surviving the Holocaust work/concentration camps, and the other set of grandparents were Czech and German second generation Americans who were poor farmers that made and raised and grew everything themselves while raising 13 children on their farm. I'm proud of where I come from and how I was raised, strong work ethic, strong character and beliefs and never bought into the indoctrination in school or society at large and stayed mostly humble after managing to get out of school as fast as possible so I could move back to texas, to my roots after living up north nw Indiana for half my life where my polish and Russian grandparents raised their children after getting a sponsor and passage to America from and refugee camp in Germany after liberation. Blows my mind how completely dense and disconnected society has become and more so how our leaders like to blame society when they allow lobbyists for industry to destroy every square inch of our planet to produce redundant bullshit we don't need or really want.....then when it doesn't sell, no matter if it is brand new clothing, appliances, parts, food etc, to be tossed in a dumpster and then have the nerve to lock the fucking dumpster to stop people who actually want to make a difference from being able to do so. You're a badass rob. Anytime you're down south I'm down to dumpster dive or garden with you. Keep it up.
