Make sure that you download version v2_02_90_scr.rar or else it has a chance of not working!
**ALSOALSO THIS WAS NOT STATED IN THE VIDEO, but download this file and extract it and place it inside of your Robin Hood folder found within your Steamapps\Common\Robin Hood, place the files in the main folder, the same one as the game.exe

This also works with Desperados and some other older games!
+If you come across a fix for Windows 10 (some users have had difficulties with this on windows 10, and I myself don't have that so it is hard for me to work with it (Windows 10 doesn't like my graphics card and won't use it so I can't do anything)) so if you come across a fix, please tell me so I can notify others! Thanks!
+I have tried the latest version of DXWnd, 2.03.79, and although it DOES work, its graphics are a lot worse. I would recommend only using this version of 2.02.90 doesn't work for whatever reason.

STEPS (if you are too impatient to watch)
0. Download this file 188.138.113.72/SHARE/rpollice/DSWin8.zip
0.1 Extract it
0.2 Place extracted files (there should be two) inside of your Robin Hood folder found within your Steamapps\Common\Robin Hood, place the files in the main folder, the same one as the game.exe
1. Download DXWnd (shown above)
2. Extract contents of DXWnd.
3. Go into the folder "build', and open dxwnd, and make sure it has admin rights.
4. Go to Edit, then press Add, and right click the new thing that pops up, and press 'Modify'.
5. Set the name as whatever you want it to be, then set the Path to the Game file, which you will find in your steamapps common folder.
(for me, it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Robin Hood\Game but for you, if you don't have it downloaded on steam and have the original disk (as I have too :P) then find the file which will be in your program files somewhere)
6. Set X and Y (towards the bottom left of the window) to 0 each, that is Zero, and set the W and H to your computer's resolution, which for me is 1440x900, but for you it's most likely something more impressive like 1920x1080.
7. 3:52 go to this time, and watch the video, and tick and untick everything that I have ticked and unticked, this is for optimal settings (I tried everything else, they were either buggy, had graphics tearing, or had lag spikes).
8. Bring the Sheriff of Nottingham to his knees and put a ring on Maid Marian's finger, because you are now ready to play Robin Hood: Legend of Sherwood!

Working, thanks. I played my Robin Hood 15 years ago on Windows XP, and then I was kinda expecting problems on Win 10. And I was right... Sadly... Fortunately, you solved my problem. Side-note: while trying to find a fix for the "lag issue" I tried already 2 or 3 other solutions, but they were referring to dead URLs (2005 and 2006 fixes) or utilizing some unnecessarily complex workarounds. Fully qualified kudos ;)

I have two monitors, a 2k and a 1080p one. On the 2k monitor the game didn't work so i decided to disable the 2k one and try on the 1080p one and it's working. Maybe this is the same for you, you cand give it a shot :)

Both this and dgVodoo 2 works to an extent, but I am getting 22 fps (instead of vanilla version's 11, but it's still slow af) Any tips for how to resolve this? I read on some wiki that game's fps is capped at 20, but I think there are ways to uncap it, right? I've played it before and I don't remember it feeling so laggy

There is a better problem free and easier solution i came across. 1) Get the latest dgVoodoo 2 2) Copy the contents of its MS directory to your game directory 3) Run the dgVoodoo2 setup executable 4) In the DirectX tab, select your emulated video card of choice (I suggest "dgVoodoo Virtual 3D Accelerated Card") 5) Check the "Fast video memory access" check box 4) Click OK (will apply changes and close the setup program) 5) Run the game

It works, thank you very much! The only issue is with the pointer, which leaves a trail on menus. That's tolerable, though, as the gameplay is unobstructed. I'm very happy that it is playable. That's what matters the most.

I had an issue with Windows 10 as well, but this link helped me: steamcommunity.com/app/46560/discussions/0/364043054119876781/ It doesn't require you to use the latest DXWND- you just need two extra files for your Robin Hood game, though it should be mentioned I've ALSO done the font fix.

B Stins Same here. I was nearly ecstatic when I found out it was those two files that basically make DxWND 2.9 work! Turns out you can get the game to run with the latest version- I tried it- but nothing fixes it. I went through every menu like fifteen times, and believe me, that took ages- game remained the same. Seems 2.9 is the only known version to work with Robin Hood.
