What robin did in his first round is one of the best uses of silent record i've ever seen! He usually loses most battles because he lacks that "battle" element in his rounds but this time he really showed everyone how versatile he is!

True. He was always fantastic, but his style was not recognised in the battleformat. Its the same as Frosty. Imo he should have won the gbb, because what he did in 19(?) was amazing and mindblowing... but not battle-ish enough.

I feel sorry for Dice here - he put out two banger rounds (albeit, a few mistakes in round one) that were exceptional, but Robin's round one was just one of those special rounds that only come around every once in a while - totally unbeatable. I don't think anyone saw that drop coming brother! Hit so hard and the follow up with the melodic wavey beat was the icing on the cake. Probably the best loopstation battle round I've ever seen in over 10 years of following the scene. Robin's execution is absolutely insane - he is always precise and clean with all of his sounds and loops. Such a shame people spam requests and spoil results in your stream - might be wise to watch the vids off-stream or only read comments after you've seen the judges votes.

So they changed the way they are doing the timers in this GBB, They wanted to give a 40 second window to end So 3 Mins is still the minimum time but instead of going 3:30 and then 10 extra seconds at the end they just made it 3:40 with a 40 second Window because a lot of genres have Different timings to them. It gives competitors an opportunity if they have a longer song to not go over while not punishing the shorter tracks that still make it to 3 minutes.

What a fucking insane battle. I think robin had it from round 1 and his round 2 hammered it home for me. That switch and the drop was so unexpected and hit so damn hardcore. IMO that is one of the best loop rounds ever. And his 2nd round was flawless. Robin and Dice were my two favorites going into this GBB so for me it’s really unfortunate that they went against each other but I knew either way I would be happy, and GOD DAMN am I happy. Side note, you lookin fresh for 47 brutha

The thing that really makes Robin's first rounds drop special is not just that it is unexpected, but he is directly copying Dice's style and doing it cleaner. It just isn't obvious because he is going before Dice. The bassline he uses is a very Dice bassline.
