Robert Addie as Sir Guy of Gisboune totally had my heart as a girl watching ROS every weekend and I still like to watch him and them still now and still swoon even though he is sadly missed. RIP Robert, you will always be Sir Guy for me. 😊❤⚔🏹🛡

Robert Addie was superb in his portrayal of Gisburne. Despite his dubious character, one thing you couldn't accuse him of was a lack of courage, probably his only redeeming feature. Robert and Nick Grace were a superb duo together, the under current of tension between their characters was marvellous. Both of them produced the definitive representations of their respective characters. The rages and outbursts of the Sheriff were terrific, and rather amusing at times. Gisburne excelled at making subtle slights directed at the Sheriff. "I am *NOT* your whipping boy!" *"AREN'T you Gisburne?!"*

Fantastic stuff, which I remember watching avidly as a young teen circa 1984/5. I love Guy of Gisburne's arrogance but the way the Sherriff of Nottingham is always chastising him for his stupidity, which added an element of humour.
