Soooo not gonna lie, I fell asleep to garden videos last night around 12am and I woke up at 5:30am, thinking there was a baby birb under my bed cuz this little guy is a happy birb chirping away. Garsh it was intense, (I have rescued so many baby birbs lol, it’s weird how much it happens). Anyways my iPad fell on the floor and everything, I even went outside to my garden😂with the sun just barely up and it was so beautiful. I FORGOT how much beauty resides in the early hours of the summer. It’s an entirely new experience. It’s so weird how nature can speak to us in different ways. I’ve decided to start waking up this early. It brings peace to my soul. Thank you ❤️ -much love from Cali.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments, and for all the great work you do to help these birds in need. Compassion for a fellow creature raises us all to super-human status, if you ask me. I love seeing the great work you all try to do saving birds. REMEMBER: job one, is to put it back in the nest!! No one can raise the bird better than the parent bird. I never take a bird if there is a viable nest, or any way for the parent to feed it. Honestly, it is best to stay out of it, and let the parents do the work. I only intervene, when there is no nest, no parent, or if there is immediate urgent need to save the bird's life. Knowing when to help, and when NOT to help, is the hard decision we all make. Great vibes everyone, fly on! I enjoyed your 5 part documentary very much today. I had a very big laugh when the brothers were using the "buddy system" to get to the window! Lol I'm currently watching a Robin's nest right outside my kitchen window with 4 eggs. 2 of them hatched this morning. The same Robin built the nest last year and raised her family successfully.

I am rescuing one now that my cat snagged out of nest 😞. I built him a nest lower in tree and he eats so much i can't keep up with him. My cats are indoors until he fly's away. I hope I can get him there

I would stick my nose into his neck feathers and smell. Birds smell so good. Then I'd kiss him on his cheek and cuddle him under the neck or cheek feathers and speak to him softly, closing my eyes a bit, so he also closes his. I did this with budgies all the time. It is also good to talk a lot to the bird, with a happy voice. They react immediately on your voice.

Mike Franzman, 'this is so heartening. I have been 'through a summer with a 'Mamma Robin I call, Mrs. Robin. She chose to build a nest on my patio lampost 'thinking it was safe. 'She was diligent 'and, the moment her first egg hatched 'an 'evil 'terrorist (squirrel) struck her nest, killed her first baby--and, scrambled 'the three remaining eggs. ~~~~~ It was heartbreaking, she came back day after day to see if her brew were still there. ~~~~~ She 'chose to 'build again, and, laid 'four more beautiful eggs: I did 'everything I could to 'protect her and her nest, but 'the 'terrorist 'squirrels 'came back and 'rolled her 'near hatching ready eggs away. ~~~~~ I had to dissuade her from 'nesting again-- 'and, I saw her days later, obviously 'with another 'egg to lay-- and, I calculated the 'days-- I'm 'afraid that 'terrorist squirral 'again 'got her eggs. ~~~~~ I 'heard her 'two mornings ago... 'so, I know she's alive... 'but, I'm not seeing any fledglings..., 'though 'three 'chickadees dance 'happily on my 'balcony. ~~~~~ I'll never forgot 'Mrs. Robin 'coming back to her nest over and over to look for her eggs/chicks: NO ONE can tell me 'birds don't experience connection or emotion.

That bird owns you, You will be feeding him for life. He might not even migrate, just come in your house for winter.

I found a baby bird nest fallen from a tree it has feathers but loos white ones sticking out from its head like Albert instine but please help me please I tried to play sparrow sounds. To get her or him to eat but he did not evan respond it looks like a sparrow but....

You know, people don't have time to sit around and watch their videos for emergencies. Anyone who has found an animal in dire need and don't know what to do should google for a wildlife organization in their city/county. Like here in San Diego there are some wonderful volunteers who take in such animals in need and know how to care for them. They are usually just a phone call away -- go look for them and then donate! I hope to have a chance to donate to Mike's go-fund-me page as soon as I'm able. :) . Bless his heart.

i LOVE CATS BUT THEY NEED TO BE INDOORS FOR THEIR WELL BEING AS WELL AS FOR BIRDS. I have had cats and kept them indoors. I do not enjoy them catching moles mice etc as well as killing birds. Birds help pollinate and seed the earth when they poop and carry seeds. We need them.

this bird is definitely dead now since robin's lifespan is 2 years and it is now almost 3 years from this video.

the average is 2 years - (if they make it past the first 6 months) but they can live up to 12-14 years. I hope he is still with us - what a cutie - and what a nice guy this is - !!!
