I spoke to robin on the phone once. We had a long and fun conversation about Hendrix and his activities as a producer. Back then I was festival organizer of the Jimi Hendrix Music Festival

Robin hits the nail on the head when he says:(paraphrased) "In the 60's the musicians just wanted to make music because they liked making music, but in the 80's the kids just wanted to be rock stars". These days it's obviously even worse, you really have to search for real music.

This is the first time I've ever heard Robin trower speaking and I appreciate this video so much because I've learned not to listen to rumours and rice young always heard that Robin trower was very arrogant but he seemed to be quite the opposite; and in fact he seems extremely humble considering that he is one of the greatest guitarist of all time as well as one of the most gifted songwriters.

His first two solo albums were perfect. Robin is one of the greatest guitarist of all time. Rohin not being in the Hall of Fame says more about the failing of the Hall. The most underrated musician i have ever come across, he is my favorite all time. I feel every word and every note played, truly a legend.

Andi Pandi The interviewer and girl were fans, just clumsy in their questions, seeming harsh. They asked a set list of questions, rather than intently listening and responded with more questions based on his answers. Robin was honest, cordial, kind, and pleasant the whole time. He revealed a lot.

My brother turned me onto Robin back in the 70s and been jamming to him ever since. Played Too Rolling Stoned in a band and we rocked it. Robin taught me a lot about playing guitar. Freestyling jamming is the only way. He's on top! Thanks Robin!

I was lucky enough to be introduced to him by the older gentleman in our neighborhood when I was about 16-17 and I couldn't believe I'd not heard of him before because I was already listen to led Zeppelin Pink Floyd etcetera

Re the interviewer...the original intention was probably for the questions to be posed as captions without the interviewer being heard. They probably were used in that format someplace, but this is obviously the original recording.

that was a little surprising, the Tull, King Crimson, ELP comment, "in passing, I don't really like that kind of music". But, thinking about it, Trower was sort of in his own genre. That is what makes him special, but still, that comment, haha.

Saw Mr Trower twice in 3 days, been a fan since the 70s. Hendrix? oh yeah. Loving the Felix the Cat t-shirt! Just a nice, quiet gentleman, played loud and smooth, didn't say much but was very thankful for the fans.

I like his honesty...he doesn't like progressive rock, only liked the first Hendrix album, the best Procol album was the one they made before he joined, the reason Bridge of Sighs was such a big hit was that it was a really good album, lol. And yes, the interviewer sucked. It was like he was a 9th grader who only asked the questions he had written down on cards, and kept losing his place. The only interesting follow-up question was the one asked by the female. And whoever was working the camera shouldn't quit their day job.

This is painful to watch and it's all the fault of the interviewer. Robin himself is incredibly gracious throughout, and his answers to many of the silly questions are very interesting and informative. He's obviously a very good guy. Love his playing

From what I’ve heard is that when Trower used to play Texas Stevie would open for Trower early on - so it’s my guess that Trower probably help shape some of Stevie’s Hendrix Blues mix since Trower had been doing it since the early 70’s. Would love to here him talk about those days

I’d like to say and hope Robin gets this, his second album along with certain songs on other albums, meaning bridge of sighs has never moved me so emotionally and transported me mentally without a drop of alcohol or drugs and and an affect that I feel four and a half decades later, instantly transports me and sends me into the ether with mental and physical feelings beyond words, so soulful and alive with emotion and mind blowing expansion with the ability to transport you to a moment in history in the first cord, this band could take you places as Pink Floyd’s dark side of the moon could, truly a timeless classic piece, in the top three heart and mind emotionally transfixed of all time, it was magic the first time I heard the bridge of sighs album with the most influential memories of my life, truly, I feel his music and James Dewars base vocals are an integral part, just plain magic that comes all too rarely, especially today. I could close my eyes in a dark room, listen and feel like I’d leave my body and soar through the cosmos, truly an album and music that you FEEL and emotionally, deep, it’s that Feel that’s so missing today in music. ATMOSPHERIC! Thank you for a life changing album.

In the 60s we loved blues, it was bigger in England than the states at the time and everyone was playing their own version of the blues some added swing vibes others didn't. Everyone was just making music not trying to be stars.

Robin had some great opinions on just about everything. He was spot on about modern rock bands sounding and looking like plastic, manufactured like a television show looking glossy making music with no feeling. So true even today!!!

I believe the questions to be thought out, even w interest in their answers perhaps, but i don’t think that the interviewer heard Robin’s answers. Hence the redundancies. I think this must have been for a tv show or music doc film. The way the questions are asked seems to be to get the most clear and basic answers. I'd imagine the questions would be edited out and you'd see robin as a "talking head" interview. Oh ya around 7:30 ish the interviewer mentions they're doing a show about prog rock.

I've seen Robin Thrower in concert 4 times. The odd thing is that he never speaks. I mean no "thank you" no "goodnight" no "thanks for coming" .... not a sound. It's kind of condescending, actually. Would it kill him to thank the crowd who cancelled plans, spent a small fortune on tickets and drove a long way to see him?

He says on Bridge Of Sighs he tried to put right the wrongs of of the first album, but I am drawn to Twice Removed From Yesterday more than the second album. I think the best tracks on the live album from 1976 are those from his first album. It's just a matter of personal taste. Terrible interviewer, I would love to have talked to him about his career and recordings. He stole the Reading Pop, Rock & Jazz Festival in August 1975, amazing show.

Respectfully, I'd say give more frame, more context and continuity, to the questions and answers -- like, say 'Hi' to him, give a little info for listeners who don't know his history, etc.

Not really an interveiw more of a list of questions. There is a difference. This type of interogation requires the artist to keep the conversation up beat and worthwhile. Problem is musicians are not all as articulate as Robin. He handles it well.
