Been listening to Trower since I'm 14 and I'm 65. Never gets old! That style of Blues Rock stemming from the Hendrix psychedelia world always lights a torch. I've always loved Robin's awesome strat tone. You always know it's him within the first 2 notes! He has such killer control with an amazing vibrato! Makes it just sing. I must say, as a guitarist myself, I've learned a lot from him over the years. And of course he's still at it, just releasing a new album a few months ago! Keep on Blues rockin Robin!!!

We were allowed to toke in the basement of the great hall before the concert, decades before weed became decriminalized in our state, we were sure to get there abt an hour before the concert started. Getting caught drinking alcohol tho and u were escorted out of the great hall immediately. There were police in tht basement with us. , they were so nice to us. "Bridge of Sighs is easily one of the best albums ever made"....... I could not agree more. When I was 11 years old, in 1981, my brother gave me 2 albums for Christmas. Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs, and Jimi Hendrix Are You Experienced. Both really really awesome albums. This really shaped my brains thought process and style in playing guitar. These guy's became my idols and hero's in the guitar world. I just picked up a set of tickets to the Dallas concert for April 26, and I am really looking forward to the show. Robin Trower, I love your music, you were and are incredibly musically inspirational to me.

The view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment. The bridge's English name was bequeathed by Lord Byron in the 19th century as a translation from the Italian "Ponte dei sospiri",[1][2] from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells.

>Stan Kowalski Your comment made me think back to the first time I heard Robin Trower & James Dewar - although there were albums before the first one I heard, which was "In City Dreams" - I went out and bought it immediately and was a devotee from then on. It was a magic time to be alive with all the outstanding music coming out. Trower and Dewar were really unique and they fit each other like a glove. Trower from England; Dewar From Scotland. If you liked what you heard here, check out all the other Trower albums that James Dewar was on. To name a few, "Bridge of Sighs" is one of their best but they're all good. "Long Misty Days," "For Earth Below," Twice Removed From Yesterday," "In City Dreams", "Caravan to Midnight," ..... Many more. Sadly, James Dewar died far too soon in 2002 from a genetic illness he had from birth. But Robin Trower is still pressing out albums and going on tour now in 2021!! Better than ever, too.

@ofthedifference11 ай бұрын
@@written12 Yes he has, but I'm betting he is entertaining the Angels! Don't the years go flying by, though? James had an exceptional voice - he wrote a Christmas song with a colleague other than Robin that is just beautiful; it's kind of obscure but I found it here on KZbin - I think it was called "Hosanna" but I might have spelled it wrong. Do a search here using the words "James Dewar Christmas song Hosanna" and it should come up. It's well worth looking for - James did the lead vocal and it's accompanied with a home-spun neat video. I take it you like James Dewar too; right on! I love him on the Trower/Dewar album "In City Dreams". James Dewar must not be forgotten. I'd quite forgotten how f#####g amazing Robin Trower was/is. I remember listening to this back in the 70s just chillin.. I totally agree regards James Dewar., sadly missed. Saw him with Stone The Crows. OK man, pass me another spliff.😊

What a voice,I didn't really appreciate it in my youth, but now that I'm older I feel it

It's amazing that bands like Trower, Vaugn, Hendrix, Page never sucked up. They just played the blues.

Nice to see musicians playing "old style". No backing tracks, no programming or expensive technology. Just drums, guitar and bass, good amps, a little reverb, Univibe and a P.A.. the song was the most important part. Those were the days!!

Robin and his band are under rated. They are far better than they are given credit for!

When studying for my masters in electronic engineering I'd take a break & chill by playing a Trower 8 track tape. 3:06 to 7:24 is the most amazing guitar playing & motivational music you could find on planet earth.

The tone he got from that Strat......Just incredible. Listen to the vinyl on a good stereo, You will agree.

amazing what the players from the 70's did with just guitar, amp wah pedal, fuzz box and raw ability...guys now have a huge effects rack and can't come close to the passion displayed here.

I think you're leaving out the most important part... Trower was all about the Univibe... it would be a very different sound without it.

Robin in God mode and James Dewar- what a voice. Such a soul voice and playing bass all the while. I'm so glad I grew up during this period.

Watching this again in January or 2020. Still, absolutely amazing! We had so many amazing true musicians in the 70's. I'm older now but looking back..we were very lucky to have Robin and Rory and Jimmy (page and plant and Dewar), and so many others. It was magical for about 10 years. Thank you for posting this!

And Stevie Van Zandt. I saw him 1990 right before the crash in Georgia. He died at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin a few months after I saw him. I think Stevie Robin are similar in there awesome guitar I saw Robin Twice in Chicago, 1976, and 77 at 14, 15 with no parents ever daring to bring us. Man we grew up in the greatest , so leniency we had.

@@brigittenorris6534 Stevie Van Zandt is still with us and playing with the E.Street Band for Springsteen and playing Silvio in the Soprano's.I think that you are referring to Stevie Ray Vaughan, it was he that left this world in a helicopter accident or maybe it was a plane crash, either way he and his unbelievable talent and gift for playing the guitbox will always be missed.

Best example of robins incredible tone , shear speed , accuracy and lightening fast string bends and vibrato pushing blues guitar too the limits , I’ve never heard anyone play blues like that before and probably never will , and it’s also a great track

I have been fortunate enough to see Robin Trower. I think it was four times late 80s early 90s and once in about 2000 and ORLANDO but that singer he had in the beginning that dude is awesome…. I don’t know where he is now or if he’s alive, I haven’t looked it up but that guy should go down in history is one of the greatest singers ever he’s so full, but yet with a hint of Ronnie James Dio.
