They did not offer him a contract and they did not allow him to move to Juve (while they did allow Henry to go to Barca earlier and is hated far less for it, b/c it's a foreign club, but RvP was denied by Arsenal to go abroad). If you decide to hate on RVP (which you have not (yet)), you also must hate the board who cornered him into the decision to move to United. Besides, if a player is not good enough, then Arsenal will bench or sell him. Clubs are not loyal to mediocrity, so why is it expected that players are when the tables are turned? RVP was chosen as the best player of EPL when he was at Arsenal. He wanted to win titles with Arsenal, but they wanted to be the best book balancers of the league. They sold their best players each season. Then the question becomes: should a player like RvP have gone back to his home country without a single EPL trophy? There are horrible players out there with far more titles than RvP and that is an injustice as well. RvP was a wonderful player and one of the best strikers the EPL has ever seen. He didn’t betray us. He dedicated his youth for Gunners 8 years long. He brought ascension by highlights at all time when he stayed and saved Arsenal when we fell down hard. We, however, couldn’t give him anything but applause. He must leave to reward himself. He deserved at least an EPL title and he did it. For real, I didn’t feel hurt when he left Arsenal in 2012. I felt happy for him on the other hand. He’s still in the Hall of Fame, always alongside Arsenal in my memories.

Bro as a gunner this was the first time I experienced heart break he was actually my favourite striker since being an arsenal fan as a kid hated him for joining Man Utd but found out as an adult that Arsenal never offered him a deal and realised that he deserved to win and my heartbreak was because of my club not him #TheFlyingDutchman #RVP
