I definitely missed some more battle energy in this loopstation category but putting that aside Robin is just on another level compared to like everybody else tbh He makes hits I wouldn't be surprised if we see Robin become mainstream and start hearing his music on the radio and performing worldwide because he is one of the beatbox artists who can do it He is phenomenal Matej obviously also did really good this gbb and im excited to see what he brings for gbb24

Would’ve probably had more battle energy if they brought in more German loopers, but a lot of judges didn’t think they stood out on the wildcard competition. Aside from that a lot of loopers are looking to use the competition to showcase their music since winning battles doesn’t make a career on its own.

Sorry to say but they didn't stand out. I am not a fan of German loopers, except Sxin maybe. I do not like this style to use a lot of effects for the sake of it and drops after drops..the rounds should sound like music, that will bring money to the competitors in the future..creating music and having showcases.

@@Nyu.Rosseanne I agree with some of this sentiment, although I think with current loopstations, everyone is using way more effects than someone like MB14, and I'm not sure a big audience can tell the difference between looping and being a DJ anymore. I don't know how popular modern looping can be as a showcase. Robin is putting out all his rounds as produced music without the limitations of loopstation, which makes sense since his strengths are as a singer and a musician and the loopstation is only for competition at this point. I think if looping isn't going to include much beatboxing anymore, the battle framework is one way the audience has to evaluate what's happening, they don't know what's involved but they can tell when a performer does better than another on the same equipment. The videos are underviewed this year and the most popular ones were more 'battle' style rounds from Robin and Bizkit. The German loopers aren't my style, but they hype up a battle and got decent views for being on a smaller channel. We'll have to see how the producer category does, but I'm not sure how much an audience there is for modern looping outside of battles.

@@YnEoS10 yes, I agree with you. I miss the beatbox from loopstation battles. As for the german scene I know the hype up the crowd and the reason are the drops after drops and so on.

@@Nyu.Rosseanne thats a dogshit take. German looping sounds exactly like music. Obviously a different kind though. Should Skrillex stop making EDM music and make pop because pop is more popular? no. AVH for example makes house and trance, subgenres of EDM. Mahiro makes dubstep, Kaos makes Techno and other stuff. All loopstation is music and the whole "just puts effects for no reason" is so unbelievably dumb. Do you think Robin made those sounds without an effect? EDM is about synth sounds and variations. i can tell you only listen to the top 100 radio hits

I'm a huge Robin fan and after hearing the first round, Robin doing his wildcard entry I felt maybe put him at a disadvantage, and Matej was great and gave a lot of energy, but after the second round I felt a lot more confident he would win. Still I was nervous when it came to the decision but Robin I think made maybe one or two mistakes the entire competition and Matej made just as many, if not more, in his last round. I think it came down to the lack of battle energy and it became more of a showcase and Robin was flawless (apart from not hitting the high note at the end), Robin was so strong throughout and I think he fully deserved it. Massive props to Matej making the final on such short notice and pushing Robin the whole way, I heard it was a split decision for the final too so it could have gone either way.

Matej had a live yesterday, he said they had light and sound issues throughout the competition. Matej said they all had sound issues. He said most of his was what he had on hand, since he was not expected to perform and was called last minute. I also think the judges got mad at what he said about them. Yes I watched this twice, just noticed I commented before lol... what can I say I need a life here in Ireland lol. Nah..it is just colder than a well digger's butt so staying inside.

I think the platform is leaning towards producing more than battling. Mind you, you are right, Bizkit, Brez, Mirsa are battlers... but often then tend to overpower the instrument and it's less enjoyable. Where as guys like Robin, Matej, AVH, they have a very decent mix (Robin actually surprised me, I think he took some lesson from Kristof! :) LOL) so it's a lot more enjoyable to listen to. I don't disagree with you but you have to take all of that in consideration. My humble opinion of course. Regardless of my opinion, the loopstation category was fun to watch and I do think Robin deserved the win for the near flawless rounds.

On the people not bringing the battle energy discussion Sometimes 1 loss can change the whole feel of the competition If brez made it pass avh then we would have gotten brez vs matej and lets just say brez then lost here and everything else happened as it did then we would have gotten a bizkit vs brez battle which alot of people have wanted to happen And would have been hype So yeah it dosen't take much for things to be different

I like Matej because to me he showed variety. Robin is good but I felt like he was more on a singing competition than actually a looping battle. To me I felt like this year was more of a talent show and less than a battle. There was no excitement in the judges either. i almost feel like matej should have won it. mans found out like a week or 2 before the competition that he is in essentially. so he had like that tiny small time to come up with the songs for ALL these rounds. and look how far he went.. he deserves the win. dont get me wrong.. robin is great. amazing.. but even he said it.. battles arent for him and he is going to focus on becoming an actual artist.

I personally thought this battle was very close but like you said Robin brought two masterpieces. Robins last round was definition of pouring all your emotion and work into your craft. Just watch his face and the judges faces during that round especially at 14:17 and 14:25. If you’re comparing this year to gbb 2021 loop it is different. This was definitely a more musical year. If you just look at the names in 2021 it was bizkit v frosty in the final and this year Robin matej. Totally different, as loopstation develops people are valuing the ability to start making realistic songs in their respective genres where as before it was just try and create the craziest and most creative drops.
