*I remember listening to stand-up comedy in the 1980’s and Robin Williams was on steady rotation. I searched for this because the last thing that he said. It was such a sweet thing to say to a bunch of strangers who loved him right back.*

Dearest Robin - My Love Goes With You - Thank You for walking in all of our gardens

When I heard the news this was the first thing I heard in my head, "People, are the great flowers of life and it has been a pleasure to have strolled through your garden." At the end of his performance, way back when, for him to paraphrase one of his heroes, Lord Buckley, sent shivers through me...just as it does now. Thanks for putting this up.

Although I had forgotten about the Buckley quote specifically, this bit was one of the first things I thought of after hearing the news, and I rushed to put this together and get it out there for people to connect to. I used to close my radio show with this occasionally, and I remember it was being brilliant and deeply affecting. The whole post-apocalyptic, sc-fi mutant angle was a stroke of genius and the calm tone is like a perfect epilogue after the hurricane of creative energy that is the entire set. Its very sweet. But it caught me by surprise, having not heard this in years, how deeply moving and (now, in retrospect) haunting those last two parts are, and I definitely got that wave of choked up feeling one gets and maybe even cried a little upon hearing them. Certainly, staying "a little full goose bozo" was what kept the sadness in check for him for so long... and it certainly has been a pleasure walking through the garden. He will be missed.

AmmonRA.801 Well said...and after the 63 year storm that was Robin's life...here we are at the roar of silence, the overwhelming calm that we now cloak his life in. Thanks again for sharing.

Believe I saw a statue of Hanuman by his door when I was watching the news. 🙏
