Dear Robin. Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge. I just tried painting on basecoat (is that wrong?) with acrylic. I get either blobs, or if I thin out the paint I get stripes. So every time I touch the painting (if you can call it that) I take away the acrylic and leave a stripe 🙁 What am I doing wrong? Also one of the last videos I watch, you said that you like to paint wet on wet. However now you let most if ot dry first. Would you say for a beginer it is better to let the paint dry first? Last question, should thr nails be topped with ot based with gelnail polish? How can they last for a month🤔 Mine don't last 2 days. Thank you so much. I have been wanting to do this sinds I was a pre-teenager. Lets just say I could have teenagers ...or older, of my own now. And I never knew this was an actual thing. 🥰

Helllllo! Okay. Yes you can paint on basecoat but if you do, try a matte topcoat as a basecoat, it gives more grip while you learn. You add thin thin layers. I get my paints ready beforehand and you can see more in my beginners playlist of getting started. If you blob, too thick. If you streak, add layers. Each design and paint is different and sometimes the paint gets thick etc so you want it like hair dye. Thin, but smooth and easy to move. Watch: painting on paper in my beginners playlist. And you absolutely can use gel or regular topcoat. What you are learning here is just the art. Think of it as a sandwich. Base. Paint. Topcoat. The paint can go between 2 layers of gel or regular polish as long as you seal it really well! I hope this helps!!! I wish you success! Xoxoxoxo

Mine lasts 4 to 6 weeks or longer but im working on acrylic nails which is like gel so i am painting on a very strong canvas. Natural nails should last a week or so give or take. Just like a regular mani. I am happy you found me. Welcome and have fun!

I just read that. Now we will know forever! I aaaallllmost paused and asked "are you kidding me?...you dont know what that dogs nose is?" but, I swore to myself I was going to show time-relevant painting techniques and I wasnt going to sway, but after, I said to her...."we must sound 8 years old?"...and then I laughed, because when I watched this just now, we did. Its odd. My kids are artistic but mostly musical. My daughter was pre-med. She is now working in a job she loves but its more business and physiology related. Its crazy! They love that i do this though and they know nails have opened their choices. She was an awesome helper when she lived here! Hahaha! Xoxo
