Nami stealing their purse not only to piss them off so they won't sad seeing her departure, but also to remind them that she will always be the same cheerful naughty girl when she's back one day.

That little scene with Nami and Bellemere always feels so so special to me, might be my favorite scene of the arc. From arlong park falling to the very last tie in with the pinwheel to punctuate the end this is a flawless example of how to end a story and one of the many reasons this arc still places in my top 10 arcs even 1000 episodes in, beautiful.

it's almost funny how Along fantasises about world domination after conquering an small island in the east blue of all places it's like being proud about being on top in F Tier

Kinda makes sense why in the western story telling everything is always so on the nose and in your face, as if it's written for babies. People just don't seem to get subtleties or symbolism over there, huh. You have to explain every tiny detail, especially when adapting a Japanese manga into an American TV show.

In the pilot manga to One Piece, there were actually terms for the different types of pirates in this. Morganeers are the typical rape, pillage, raid types. Peace-Mains are the dreamers that pursue adventures and their dreams regardless of what obstacles they may find on the way, usually without letting their morals be lost on the way.

This has got to be the first reaction I've seen where Luffy starts destroying Nami's room and the person is like "OH, maybe Luffy wants save that desk and bring it to the ship" 😂😂

I liked that in the Live Action they merged the pinwheel and the tangerine into a pinwheel made of tangerine peel the same way Nami's tatoo is...

In the live action Garp say they will get the rest of the Arlong Pirates so implied he jailed them. In the manga/anime its implied that they finally contacted the marines (other than Nezumi) and they arrested the beated pirates. We do get confirmation on this way later albeit with some other things that I will not mention here

I mean, a pirate it's simply a sailor who does not obey the law really. Even explorers/travelers in those times needed the monarcs/governor permission, didn't they ?

I am totally with you on the ending take - a long story deserves a long ending. I only recently came across the "17 ending of the LotR" banter, and was surprised. OP does endings of arcs really well, imo, so in this specific regard at the very least you'll have a great time.

Even though they're not doing piracy properly, the straw hats are still pirates. The reason is that the One Piece is a forbidden treasure (by the world government), so anyone that goes after the One Piece is a criminal... And criminals from the seas are called pirates... So, just by going after the One Piece makes them pirates.

Arlong is gone. The wanted poster is in the making. Our crew got Nami back. And now we are finally sailing to unknown adventures. And they are unknown for the reaction, too. No possible comparisons to the Live Action any more :D Next time you can compare season 2 of the Live Action to the Anime where you will be way ahead in the story.

Get used to the great endings for the arcs. One Piece (or should I say the Strawhat crew?) are very well-known for the crazy parties that tend to accompany the conclusions of arcs. It's always immensely fun and satisfying to partake in those as viewer!

I get why the live action did what it did, but I do love Gen in the anime. I'm a sucker for a good father figure.

15:25 the character you deal with are still important in the future...Many of the characters whose screen time was extended in the live action appear in future arcs and play an important role in the plot as a whole. Although when you watch the first arcs, it seems that they are left far behind. When you still have no idea about the lore of this universe. That's why I think Instead of introducing a bunch of different characters into the plot, the writers decided to give more screen time to the really important people

If you watch the Honest Trailers take of OP Live Action, they address that Luffy apparently has no idea what a pirate actually is.
