I love how everyone normally says "Run, Barry, Run" while the speed force keeps telling him to "Sit, Barry, Sit", telling Barry to slow down and deal with his trauma. While trying to continue moving forward, running, we often forget to stop and think, sit, about what is really the heart of the problem. Enjoying the reactions. Keep em up 👍

27:48 the reason why Barry remembers the story I think is because when his mother died he kept reading it to feel her presence because he hadn’t accepted her death yet which is dark when you think about it

Fun Fact: The actors who play Jay and Silent Bob both have a hand in this episode. The actor who played Jay is the guy with the yellow hummer. And the actor who played silent Bob it the director of the episode. They both have other episodes in later seasons. I think at most 3 or 4 episodes in one season.

In the comics, Wally West was Barry's original sidekick - Kid Flash - and he's Iris' nephew, rather than brother. He originally debuted in 1959, and soon after joined up with other kid sidekicks like Robin, Speedy (Green Arrow's sidekick), Wonder Girl, and Aqualad to form the original Teen Titans (not the better-known "New Teen Titans", who replaced them later). He later took over as The Flash when Barry died during the big "Crisis on Infinite Earths" comics crossover in 1985. He's remained as The Flash since, and a lot of comics fans from the 90s tend to think of Wally as The Flash first. There are similarities to Miles Morales, but Miles was introduced to comics much later, and he only became Spider-Man after the original's death (in the comics); Miles had never been a sidekick to Peter Parker. Wally's been around for a long time in the comics, and his arrival in the show was long-awaited.

Wally was an original sidekick to the Flash in the comics. He was Kid Flash. It got weird a few years ago though. In the 90s, Barry died (seemingly) and Wally took up his mantle and became the Flash. He wasn't African American and had red hair, they wanted to remake him, so they brought back Barry as the Flash and made Wally an African American younger Kid Flash. But the original Wally was very loved and was a GREAT Flash (he was the fastest speedster ever). So..... they brought back the original alongside the new younger African American Wally. The explanation as to how there could be two Wally Wests was clever. Iris had two brothers. One was estranged and severed communication with the family. Each brother had a kid and named the kid after the grandfather, Wallace.

I don't understand why people get frustrated with you processing what you're watching out loud. I feel like that's the part of it that I love the most. I love seeing your brain go from one thing to another and we as the audience that have already seen it, are enjoying it because we actually now know what happens. 6:06 - The "one of them dies" scenario where the other survives: it has happened in the real world. I know a family where two brothers and their sons went camping. While they slept in a tent during a bad storm, lightning hit a tree a distance from them, traveled the long root system, and electrified everyone in the tent. One brother and son survived (though very sick from the blast), the others did not. It was found that the dead had taken the brunt of the shock.

I actually have a small theory that the number 9 is a sign for the speed force. My theory is after getting hit by lightning or an extra dimensional energy (dark matter), if a person is awake after 9 seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, ext, they could get speed powers. Barry was asleep for nine months, wally was knocked out for about 9 minutes, and I'm not sure if its correct but jesse could be knocked out for 9 hours.

In this episode Barry unlocked the power "lightning healing" or at least that's what I call what he used on Jesse. Anyways, it seems like a pretty useful power to have moving forward that Barry could learn to use later but in reality he never uses it again.
