@@whade62000 Considering that Oda hadn't even conceived of Haki at this point in the manga, I think it's a fine direction. It makes the worldbuilding feel even more consistent than it already does. Because Shanks, basically the god of Haki, would've used it in this situation.

I actually like how Buggy willingly dresses up as a clown despite being insecure about his nose. With him calling his crew freaks and all, the circus show seems more like a way to cope with his deformity and turn it into his pride rather than just some theme he came up with in the shower

Buggy is insecure about his nose because that’s his *actual* nose, red and all. He’s not wearing a ball on his nose. It’s actually the reason he dresses like a clown, to try and draw attention away from his nose by making it blend in with the outfit.

Buggy is one of the absolute MVPs of this show. He is actually "more Buggy" than in the anime. Which ofc is impossible, you cant be "more" authentic than the original. But this actor adds so much to the character without taking anything away. He is still every bit the Buggy of the anime, just with extra. Its quite amazing to be honest.

Just to clarify: Luffy - ate a devil fruit. Buggy - ate a devil fruit Shanks - did NOT eat a devil fruit.....his power is something else...... But if someone's eaten a Devil fruit, they'll find a way to tell us soon as we see it in effect

In the live action, sea water as a weakness is played up a bit to the point that being splashed can take your powers away, but in the manga/anime, you specifically lose your power by being submerged (even if it isn't sea water) but the moment you're pulled out you can use your power again even if you haven't dried off. In either case, losing the ability to swim is universal.

Devil Fruit users don’t lose their powers when submerged in water. They just get weakened to the point that they can’t use their powers themselves.

And the sea (and other sea-related stuff) have been used to undo or negate Devil Fruit powers at various points. Oda isn't 100% perfectly consistent over the course of over a thousand chapters, and that's fine.

For example, Luffy’s body is still rubber underwater. In Arlong Park in the manga & anime, we’ve seen Luffy trapped underwater but another person was able to stretch his neck up to the surface to get him some air. His body never stopped being rubber.

Being too weak to move vs losing your powers is a distinction with a difference, Luffy never stoped being rubber in the water, if being in water would nullify the Devil Fruit, then Luffy's head would not have been able to be lifted out of the water by Genzo and Nojiko, same with Big Mom making the Sea Slug Homie, or Kuzan freezing the ocean. Water doesn't negate the Devil Fruit power, what seems to negate it is the Sea Prism Stone, but the user needs to touch it. Exemplify the inconsistency because that's something I can't recall ever happening unless it's in a non-canon story like Uta's Concert in One Piece Red.

Robinoyo, here's some explanations without spoiling. :D they're basically thr basic knowledge. a devil fuit user CAN'T eat another devil fruit as it'd un alive the person, Shanks don't have a power, he just trained very very hard including his eye's, it'll be explained in the anime, but people without fruit abilities, CAN train themselves to do thing's that most people won't be able to do.

Oh and... The user's of the fruits weakness don't include rain, or small amounts of water, so if your body is not half way into the sea water, you won't lose your power.

If someone doesn't talk about their devil fruit they don't have one, and if they seem to have some kind of power then that power is something else There's more power systems in this world, not just devil fruits

There's a lot of shots with blurry background in this, it's a specialty shot that uses Hawk MHX Hybrid Anamorphic lenses. It's intentional. It's hiding things in the background that the long term fans will notice that are important in the future and forcing focus away from that to people that they dont want to notice it. But its also a stylistic choice with the fish eye lens effect. I don't know if that's what you meant by the gopro comment if it was related to that.

@@conankun88 The original commenter literally did, though. Relax. The devil fruit user's curse was *just* explained to Robinoyo at the beginning of the episode. The show also hammers it home when Luffy's trapped in the tank. All he was doing was reminding him. It's common for first time OPLA reactors to immediately forget all about that stuff and go "Oh, Shanks ate a devil fruit?" while ignoring the fact that he had to *swim* after the boat. It's all laid out in the open, there's nothing wrong with a little clarification.

When submerged in water that is knee-high and above, the Devil Fruit user is weakened, but their powers aren't taken away; they just can't use them. A lot of it is more for clarification. One of the things that the live action doesn’t clarify is that people can gain superhuman abilities by training. An example of this is what Shanks did to the Sea King. A lot of people thought it was a Devil Fruit power when it isn’t, & the live action doesn’t tell you that. In the manga & anime, they show you by showing Shanks swimming.

So it is absoluteley not necessary to write about that stuff. Especially when you know he wants to watch the Anime and already did start with it. He can learn everything by himself. He does not need comments who tell him stuff just because they know more than what he can know at this point of his adventure.

what Shanks did to the sea monster was call using Concours Haki. They will talk more about it when you watch the Anime. More or less there are a few versions of Haki one is Concours Haki which will allow you to use high pressure to show your opponent you are stronger then them.

​​​@@hadoopbro8103 Its not.. its in the manga.. after their old crew disbanded, although buggy has an inferiority complex buggy told shanks that he would follow him into the ends of the world and treat him as his captain to pursue the one piece but shanks said hes not ready yet and just wanted to live as a normal pirate then shanks started to move for the one piece years later bein one of the strongest crew while buggy was left in a small town doing pirate stuff.

If you wanna call it betraying expectations that's the closest thing to a 'betrayal' you can get. Him deciding later to go after the One Piece isn't a betrayal either, Buggy never really went seriously for it until recently too, and Shanks only said he wouldn't yet back then not ever.
