Austin D ..he can. The 'thing' is its an Afrikaans programme. Now... consider the broader ramifications: because Afrikaners/Boers are viewing this they get to hear Mandisa. . and had she been on a different platform, not. Remember, its commercial concerns also that drive the nature of the programme - so advertisements before, as well during and after said programme which essentially 'pay for its airing' are geared toward an Afrikaner viewership... just unfortunate dynamics. Having said all this though; and considering Mandisa's admission that she understands maybe only ten percent of the Afrikaans spoken; would have given any gent the direction, to at least speak mostly in English. His English isn't poor...and also to respect this highly intelligent and eloquent lady. Freek is a seasoned moderator and can reasonably have encouraged that chap to at least attempt moderate use of English. . .unfair as its his first language and tmk not her first language.
