The song offering itself is great. Parts of Robin's solo via his signature wah sound, closely mimic an almost human voice. Robin himself said he could find no fault with this track. Of course, Taggarts steady drumming and the vocals of Watts bring the song from Trower's head to a fantastic reality. Trower and company deserve a Grammy nomination or a Blues Award nomination for this fine cd. Nice!

@@caroleborchert5023 Been a Trower fan since the Bridge of Sighs era. Trying to remember all of the live Trower shows that we've attended. They include 8-10 in Indiana, 1 in St. Paul MN. 1 in Kansas City Kansas, 1 in Nashville TN. and 3-4 in Cincinatti OH. Have talked to Robin numerous times. Best guitarist on the planet and the nicest person that you would ever want to meet. Before Covid, he would always stay & greet his fans until the very last fan had left. I will NEVER forget witnessing that over and over. Wow!

@@cloudedthoughts909 Sadly only a few. One was on the In City Dreams Tour in Oct.1977 at the Indianapolis Pepsi Coliseum W/Ram Jam. The other was out of state but I don't remember where. Saw Trower in Minneapolis/St. Paul at the Fitzgerald theatre downtown. WOW! No Double WOW!! It had 2 balconies and we sat up top in the left/ center of the stage and the sound was absolutely incredible. They say that no seat is more than 87 feet from the stage at the Fitzgerald. It is still my top Robin Trower show of all time.

Once at the Goshen theater in '85(?) where the power went out during "Secret Passages," and then again in South Bend at a club whose name I forget where Black Oak opened. Why do some people still compare robin to Hendrix?,they obviously don’t understand robins style or technique and the songs he plays. I’m 65 seen him and listened to him for years,it may not be obvious to some but there is a vast difference.
@johnnyr.88522 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more. Hendrix was THE psychedelic guitar pioneer, showman, and front man, but I don't believe that his actual musicianship equals Trower's. Robin's chord voicings are sometimes very jazzy and much more musical to my ear. I have always said that Trower doesn't just write songs, he writes total compositions, and, in my opinion, there is a huge difference. Needless to say, again this is just my own opinion and not the law.
@rft20012 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyr.8852 I agree. Hendrix was great but his songwriting was not as good as Trower's. While I'd call them both psychedelic, Robin is a much more sensitive player and is much more pleasing to the ears.

Wow like fine wine Robin gets better with age.such tastefull licks.I never liked strats except as a kid I loved Ron woods sunburst maple neck white pickguard . I custom ordered the exact guitar in 1974 ,I believe the one I bought was a ew few years older as they changed out the pickguard . I hated the thin sound of the guitar I loved the fat Gibson sound so the guitar was a thing of beauty that got polished when I pulled out from under my bed, it still had the hang tags and clear plastic pickguard cover that was suppose to get peeled .the smell opening the fender black outer with a inner red orange crush case was intoxicating. The guitar in the pampered unplayed lcondition had I kept and never played in that condition would be 8000 guitar..Now I love the sound of the strat when hearing what this guitar master achieves . I bought a mint Japanese burst rosewood neck 1970s strat at a antique market 10 years ago for $25 and I told someone about it and told him he could have it for 125 .I pulled it out polished it and put the high E string on started listening to bridge of sighs and now I don’t want sell this machine YIKES WHAT DO I DO ? The action is low but the strings seem so tight compared to my 1970s univox les Paul that virtually plays itself. I’m wondering if a tech changed the strings if maybe the guitars action could be loosened up. ? Sounds just like a real fender vintage and looks beautifu just painful to bend and get that good vibrato action?
