Today’s Roblox in a Nutshell video will be on Roblox Adopt Me! Adopt Me is a roleplaying game (RPG) where players can choose to be a parent or a baby.
As a parent, you can adopt babies and complete tasks assigned to you, such as giving food and drink, cutting hair, washing, sleeping, and going to the park. Upon completing the task, you are rewarded with money that can be used for house builds, furniture, vehicles, eggs, and more. While roleplaying was the game's original intent, nowadays, people play this game to trade pets.
Most pets are hatched from eggs purchased at the nursery. Some special/event pets have to be purchased using in-game currencies or Robux. Each egg has a different price and hatches into different pets. Some eggs are time-limited, such as the Ocean Egg, and they are unlikely ever to come back, thus making their pets unobtainable for new players. To hatch it, the player will need to complete tasks given by the egg, and just like babies, they get paid for completing them. When the progress bar is full, the egg hatches.
The pets are separated into different rarity, and legendary pets are the hardest to obtain. Pets can become full-grown by completing more tasks. Only 1 pet can be equipped at the same time, so it is very time-consuming to get all of your pets to max level. If you have 4 of the same full-grown pets, you can fuse them into a neon pet that glows. 4 neons are used to make a mega-neon, which glows with multiple colours. There is also the option of making pets fly and ridable by spending Robux.
Trading pets is the most popular activity in the game. When trading, players need to pay attention to what is traded and judge their value to ensure they do not get ripped off or scammed. There is no specific reason for trading, but everyone is doing it anyway. Limited-time event pets are the most sought-after and are considered to have high values, especially if they are neon or mega-neon. That is why the devs constantly make new updates and add event pets to make people spend more Robux, like the most recent meme pets update.
Scamming people is the most effective way to get pets, and there are many different techniques to do so. Simply search on KZbin lmao.

I used to play this microtransaction riddled game a while back, the main thing that kept me interested was honestly the house building. With a little bit of maneuvering you can glitch through the walls and build a whole ass skybase floating in the void. Alternatively, you can make a parkour course in the aforementioned void (which conveniently has a built-in death pit) and send out a party invite saying “whoever completes this gets a free mega neon golden piss flavored unicorn” and watch a bunch of kids repeatedly fail at the obby for your own amusement. Good times.

I remember in this game, before they added a massive "Leave house" button, I used to make houses that would let people enter and not let them leave, after I got a single family member inside my house I would teleport to the next baby in the family, pick them up, and then teleport back to my house. I repeated this until all family babies were imprisoned inside my house, then I would grind them by taking care of their needs, making massive profit, since the more babies, the more the needs. The only way out was resetting, but it was rare for anyone to know that you could do that, so they just had to be grinded until they left. Was only reason this game was any fun.

I remember the time when I first played A-drop me in 2017. No pets, only one half of the server playing as parents, the other as babies. Most people craved something a normal person would, a better house and a cool car. Some may have spent their money on "gifts", the Primodrial lootboxes of the game to get a strange epic vehicle to flex on others. The center island had way fewer people, although there were still enough people to visit the shops to buy new clothes and food to feed their children. There was also a small inside joke in the community, in which people would throw babies off the bridge into the river when abandoning them, the devs even put up a sign on that bridge, which forbids throwing that act, however that did not stop anyone, hence the name I used earlier. All that, and I only played it a few times, before abandoning it for the more popular and cool in those times Jailbreak. Then, I briefly tried it again. It was sometime in 2020-2021, I don't remember exactly, yet I know that I pressed the play button purely out of boredom during the Beer Virus. I was greeted by a crowd of people gaggling and going after shiny things, like a flock of strange crows. Yet these crows were human. Human children trading with eachother, exchanging "abc's" and "123's" and handing over animals. At that time I have already had a taste of games with heavily implemented trading in them, however, I was still surprised to see servers that were once filled half-and-half, rampant with babies. Not literally, mentally. No other player has been taking care of children or trying to get a new car. They were simply trying to get pets. Naturally, out of curiosity, I tried to raise a few, I think I got a cat and a beaver, which I later gave some accessories, after that I discovered that these pets had the Neon and Fly variants, which of course, disappointed me. A game I once knew as a place for people to rp, turned into a zoo, where animals were more humane and sensible than their supposed owner. I only played the game for about a month, looking for anything that the pet system can be applied to. In the process, I have started buying cauldrons that I would use *_TO DRUG MYSELF WITH SPEED POTIONS TO THE POINT OF ME BEING ABLE TO OUTRUN A CAR,_* which had kept me going for a bit, until I have decided to leave. I have had enough of that game, and never I wanted to play it ever again. May the Capitalist forces crumble upon that game, releasing it from the grasp of pets, however it would always be remembered as that one trading game, with no goal and no end.

I used to play adopt me and got pretty rich, then quit because I was so rich I had no motive to continue, so I gave all my pets, I legit emptied out my entire trades me inventory to my cousin.
