Lifesteal is so overpowered, depending about your sword and how many people your fighting, they need to nerf it to make it fair for the other enchants.

In my opinion, static is better. Static does a lot of damage to a group of people, and there is a big group of people there, so it would of been insanely good.

In a 1v1 life steal is much better it will both damage and heal you,Static is better in 1v2-3 if it's over 1v3 life steal is better if you have worse or equal gear since you're basically almost invincible although if you have better gear static is easily better, static is better when it comes to Rushing a big team but small team yeah life steal is better,life steal also helps you defend against big groups since you're more durable and you can kill them before they get the bed so I'd say it depends on what are you doing
