It says in the description of this BFDI game that there is a big update coming soon with a competition mode. My prediction is that the new update will come out on July 20th, 2023, because that’s one year after the game became public.

@@DeadAltertainment When the update does come out, here is everything I’m hoping for: 1. Needle added 2. 4 X & 2 removed and replaced with 3D rendering models 3. All missing TPOT recommended characters added 4. New locations added 5. Other recurring characters added like Purple Face and some BFB RC’s 6. Inanimate Insanity characters and locations added

The cutout 4 was added in the April fools update I think they just forgot to change it

I was in a server with melonoshi and they said that it was because of a glitch that they added it, they added it on apr fools to hide the true reason, but ended up telling it anyway

There's no official date of when this update will release, even melonoshi (the creator), doesn't have an exact date of when. They're actively working on it as much as they can and the time of release just depends on how fast they can finish it. There is a possibility that the update won't come out though, and it could just become a whole new game, as development on another game from their profile seems to be making itself through.

As the original theory we had was that they would update it on June 16th, because that would be the 2 year anniversary date. But since that time's past, I think it'll be on the 16th of this month. Because that's only one month after they would've missed the 2 year anniversary. But if not, I'll still have to check for more answers, just to be updated and give you more info.

There was a time the test model was finished and playable!

It never was finished, it just had all the base assets made. so they decided to use it as a placeholder. Yes, it was playable, but it didn't even have the jump animation made. That's how you can even see that it wasn't finished.
