The FE scripts that exploiters used to bypass Filtering Enabled didn't use parts of the map, they used items of your avatar and removed the mesh making a block. FE scripts are rarer to find these days due to a new Roblox update that patches Net bypasses. The one where they insert code into a model and the dev puts it in the game that is a backdoor that lets you use a ServerSide if you join the group that owns the Backdoor Model, this basically lets you use all the scripts that Filtering Enabled patched. Net is short for Network Bypass, a Net/Network Bypass makes it so after you execute a FE Script your hats don't just fall upon getting near another player. Roblox Patched it Mid 2020 - 2021 But people have found workarounds for the Net Patch, using different coding methods.

When I was probably like 9 or 10 I played a lot of Solar Conquest (the CocoaWarrior game). One of my favorite play sessions was when someone exploited and spawned the StarBattle star free model. The game was popular back in 2010 as a combat/building game, but nobody fought in that server. We all teamed up to survive, building space stations further and further out from the star as it consumed every spawn planet. It had turned into a permadeath survival game for an hour. One of my favorite memories from this platform.

6:19 Yeah the exposure of children to the R exploits was definitely common. I was like 10 years old when someone used one of those R word exploits on my avatar, it was probably one of the earlier versions of this kind of script since it was well over a decade ago at this point. ROBLOX never really did anything about it, at least it didnt seem like they were doing anything. On a different note, I also remember the grab knife script and I kind of have fond memories of putting two of them in a game and me and my friends would try to grab and kill each other first. I think that person using those exploits to attack condo games is very based.

People say Roblox nowadays is incompetent, but I've been on this platform for long enough to know that they've always been incompetent lazy bastards who barely ever give a damn about actually improving the platform. Anything 2009 onwards was basically like this. Roblox was too small for the issues to show before 2009, and now that's it's exponentially bigger the same issues are proportional. Like, imagine trusting the clients in the 2016th year of Christ. That's just incompetence, Roblox has always seemed like this indie half-baked joke of a platform, and even now it struggles to shake that off. It's so far behind in many regards.

@@autisticbluesloth5244 The problem is that Roblox is script-based that open to easy exploit and cheats. It's their problem that they didn't take action in time. Roblox should take action against their problems with security, not the developers.
@humza890
@humza890 Жыл бұрын
@@nkaolI don't think you understand what they were trying to say. Filtering enabled works by authorising messages to be sent through a specific tunnel. These tunnels are called RemoteEvents and RemoteFunctions. It is the developers responsibility to verify if messages sent through these tunnels are valid or authorised, or are malicious. The developers can add code that ignore or even punishes players who abuse these tunnels via hacking. For example, if I sent a message to the server that I want shoot a gun at 1000 bullets per second, then it is the developers responsibility to add code that realises that requesting 1000 bullets per second is invalid and likely malicious, and therefore should be ignored. It is common anti cheat practice to NEVER trust the client, and to always run some sort of verification to check if the client is doing valid request or malicious request. There is however one thing that Roblox themselves should improve on, which is character verification. By default, your Roblox character is trusted, meaning in almost all Roblox games, you can teleport your character. Roblox should add anti cheat features that can be enabled or disabled by the developers to stop character exploits.

Not only was it wasteful, it was also pointless, and broke the game for lower end pc players and 32 bit players. The game consumes more RAM than ever before, and it crashes very often, mostly without a warning. Sometimes, the game has a drastic fps drop just for loading assets, but if you managed to endure the constant fps drops until it loads everything, there was still such a rare moment where the game freezes, looping the sound of your game like it was the windows blue screen of death. Somehow lags the entire pc as well.

However some exploits went past byfron by using the ms store uwp version of the game but that's temporary and roblox will likely add byfron to the uwp version too. the other way around byfron is using bluestacks, but thats extrremely laggy and many will likely quit exploiting after all the versions get the byfron update. I find it hilarious that hackers are so prevalent in apocalypse rising and yet I got banned when I wasn't even hacking. An admin banned me for "lag switching" even though I just had god awful internet at the time (mobile hotspot in a forest), and when I tried to appeal, they basically told me to shut up and didn't even try to let me appeal. It was one of my favorite games too, even though the hackers made it so annoying.

Just to tell you, if the game ended up this way, it is because of how developers scripted everything. "Stealing items" sound like something that should NOT be possible, no matter which software you use. As a ROBLOX developer for years now, I can attest that some games such as "Prison Life", ... (including Apocalypse Rising). First thing first, the game's old. The fact it wasn't updated for ages is also a reason to consider it slowly dying. The graphics are also very old. ROBLOX has evolved and way better content has been released since then, making people play other games than this one. EXPLOITING* (and not hacking) is probably also a cause (like Prison life). Well, ROBLOX cannot ensure safety to all games because developers are in need to secure their clients/server communications (remote events, functions, ...). The feature "steal guns" I saw in the video, is ONLY plausible because exploiters have access to the server console which is their own fault. I have experienced exploiting in my game, people were flying all around, ruining it. I know what it is to get your creation completely torn apart in front of you by stupid an childish people. That's because I was using the toolbox, and I got some malicious scripts within my game that allowed such behaviors to exist. But once removed, everything was pretty much safe. So, they just brang themself into this situation. The only localsided things you can do that other people can see is affecting your character, since your client has the total control & replication over it. The only things they can do is fly; noclip; ... which is indeed a lot, but TPs, ... can be avoided via a server-sided security that checks the velocity (and other factors such as the position) to eventually make sure everything is ok. I worked for an SCP game that had those securities, in months of moderation, I witnessed a really low amount of exploiters because they had an anticheat in place which was wonderful and ALSO HAD local securities, which prevented most of the exploiters to come back after having received their permanent ban notice. If you ask, yes, I didn't fully watch the video. I am just absolutely not ok with the fact you critize ROBLOX for exploiters, whereas Apocalypse Rising was attacked because of the poor design and poor decisions that were taken by developers. Exploiting is not that easy. **EDIT** I just witnessed another part of your video saying "you can't do that in other games", which let's say is kind of true. The problem is that other games aren't designed to make you create a WHOLE game. The gameplay (on the game you mentioned) is already setup: you have little to no possibilities to change the behavior of the game. In ROBLOX's case, people create their own content, which makes ROBLOX unsafe at some point because we can manipulate a LOT of things that, if badly secured, can turn into vinegar indeed.

Although Roblox has stopped cheating to an extent, there is also an executor named Scriptware that is getting their 3rd version, which would most likely bypass byfron's attempt to stop cheaters, having even posting them using exploits on the windows version in their discord server. Even on Apex Legends with Hyperion, cheaters would still upload videos of them cheating. I'm not so sure about this "anti-tamper".

I miss this era of gaming avidly, back in the day the "exploiter" would always be a mischievous entity to us because alot of them were people who were expirenced programmers and it felt enjoyable seeing what they did, they always would come in casual servers, never bothering with a competitive game and they would just do the funniest shit and i have so many great memories like in 2013 when an exploiter gave everyone a paintball gun in an obby game and used the obby checkpoints to put us in a ringer, that kind of cool shit was awesome. but after the c00lkid incident (for anyone unaware, it was like some exploiting ring that infested roblox and is mainly responsible for prison life and apoc being hacker infested) roblox started taking it seriously due to the influx of "skids" after people started capitalising on the guis, and just like call of duty and gta. it became an annoying power boner for kids and they had the enjoyment sucked it out faster then 30yr dad in a hooters bar, roblox removing expiremental mode was the nail in the coffin.

There are 2 reasons I can think of that causes games to get exploited. The first reason is filtering enabled exploits. That means they use the developers RemoteEvents or RemoteFunctions as a sort of "authorised tunnel" to make changes to the server. However the developer can add verification to stop unauthorised changes via filtering enabled. The other way is to somehow inject code onto the server. Developers pretty much can't do anything to stop this issue
@anto_fire8534

It's a bit more complicated than this. First of all, to smooth stuff out for the player and put less stress on the server, there exists something called network ownership where basically every unanchored part closest to the player physics are calculated by the client, this includes NPCs, random unanchored stuff and the player's own character. This allows exploiters to fuck with a lot of stuff by teleporting them around if this is not thought of enough. (also just so you see where this also comes in effect, look at when you drive a vehicle with a friend, it always look buggy and stuff but fine on their side because they are the one calculating the physics) Next, about remoteevents and remotefunctions, those are generally safe but it really depends on the developer as to how much they trust what the player sends them. Often stuff like weapon hitboxes are calculated on the client to make fighting less frustrating for the player because of the client to server latency and so this creates an opportunity for hackers to send fake information. The information on the server can however be double checked on the server to give a bit of leniancy on the player but this still lives an abusable thing for exploiters. This is all for a generic player better experience. Things like arbitrarily setting values with a remote event is poor coding though, not an issue with the remote event itself. Finally, backdoors aren't really that hard to remove. If you didn't take a model from the workspace and you have a backdoor then it's more than probably from a plugin (or one of your dev) adding them into the game. It is more annoying if it's a plugin as it can just add a lot of them and you need to remove them after. Once you disabled all your plugins, you can pretty easily find out which script has a backdoor just by using the search all and typing "require", checking all of that and then checking for "getfenv" (generally it'd look like something like "getfenv()["require"](assetid)" or something else where the require is substituted with a version which uses the ascii values for each character with something like "\114\101\113\117\105\114\101"
@humza890
@humza890 Жыл бұрын
@@anto_fire8534 Yes, you are correct about network ownership (I've scripted my own go kart with server side anti cheat before before). From my understanding, if network ownership is set to nil, Roblox server does verify if a part change is valid. If the dev explicitly sets network ownership to a player, then the model is fully trusted and it is up to the dev to verify it on the server side. This mainly applies to cars, planes etc. It is also worth noting that a player character is networker owned by the player by default. So you can pretty much teleport in every single Roblox game. I also suspect weapons are exploited through the same way, since the gun item goes into the player character, which makes it networked owned by the player. I think Roblox should add features to enable or disable player character anti cheat (with disabled being the default at first)
@mow_cat

@@humza890 the player kinda just has full control over parts they own, you can find this out by having the player spawn a part into the game via a localscript. the server will never know its there due to filtering enabled, yet all parts that are close to the player will physically interact with that part that only the player knows is there (even if you never set their network ownership)

The unfortunate reality of Byfron is that, like basically everything Roblox makes, it was a blanket fix that temporarily fixed the hacker issue, but broke a useful utility (Roblox Multi), created a glitch that literally prevented users with certain hardware & software from playing at all (the white screen bug that they still haven't fixed), and in the end didn't even manage to quell the exploiters for more than a week, as I saw them posting about how easy the Byfron Beta was to bypass on a subreddit (ontop of the aforementioned platform switching you can do to completely negate Byfron anyway). Because of Byfron, I haven't been able to play Roblox for many months now without resorting to reverting the update in a desperate attempt to play again, and a lot of other people have been having the same issue, being forced to use MS store isn't a viable option for most because it's incredibly jank compared to default Roblox. I was initially excited that Roblox was coming to 64bit, but the fact that it completely prevents me from playing killed basically all interest I had in the update and made me remember how Roblox never gets anything right and only responds to issues these days when it cuts into their profit. Reverting updates isn't possible anymore, so I'm basically permanently locked out of Roblox till (or if) they ever fix this garbage. It's about the final straw for me after being on this platform for the better end of 16 years.

You can still get multiple instances if you manually close the handle in process explorer, but anytime I do it I have to pray Byfron isn't having a bad day and doesn't trip. Then again, this whole Byfron thing is too little too late, much like how FE, something even 90s games had, was added 10 years after the platforms creation. I think you can agree that Roblox has stayed consistent throughout the years, and that is being an incompetent and negligent company that likes to inconvenience its users with any opportunity given. People say Roblox has "gone bad" recently, but I reckon this is just a byproduct of Roblox growing exponentially in recent times, hence the issues have gotten much more attention.
@hahahahahaha2366
@hahahahahaha2366 Жыл бұрын
@@pantommy Yeah pretty much, I realized at some point that Roblox becoming massive was a critical issue, you can think of any community getting bigger as a sort of graph where the ease of dehumanizing people becomes easier as the ability to recognize individuals within the community becomes more challenging. Roblox's biggest downfall was ironically its success and extreme popularity, which pushed it to have to make these blanket changes that catered to 'the masses' instead of the 10s of thousands of individual communities it created as a platform. And of course, money is the next best motivator after general stabilization and Roblox going public on the stock market was basically the final nail in the coffin as having 'a community' becomes obsolete compared to compounding revenue. But I think their current leadership is pretty terrible even from a profit standpoint considering they still completely ignore and don't put any money into maintaining the complaints of their biggest revenue generators (Developers), instead using the Valve approach of complete radio silence and feigning ignorance to prevent as much bad PR as possible. Problem is, I'm pretty sure even Valve at least communicates with their actual partners.

basically how filtering enabled works is: back in the days of filtering disabled, everything on one client was replicated to all clients. since exploits inject client scripts (because they can't run server scripts), anything that showed up on the cheater's client would be replicated to every client. when FE released, it no longer replicates one client to all clients. instead, it replicates the server to all clients.

" A chair is a type of seat, typically designed for one person and consisting of one or more legs, a flat or slightly angled seat and a back-rest. They may be made of wood, metal, or synthetic materials, and may be padded or upholstered in various colors and fabrics. Chairs vary in design. An armchair has armrests fixed to the seat;[1] a recliner is upholstered and features a mechanism that lowers the chair's back and raises into place a footrest;[2] a rocking chair has legs fixed to two long curved slats; and a wheelchair has wheels fixed to an axis under the seat.[3] Chair comes from the early 13th-century English word chaere, from Old French chaiere ("chair, seat, throne"), from Latin cathedra ("seat").[4] The chair has been used since antiquity, although for many centuries it was a symbolic article of state and dignity rather than an article for ordinary use. "The chair" is still used as the emblem of authority in the House of Commons in the United Kingdom[6] and Canada,[7] and in many other settings. In keeping with this historical connotation of the "chair" as the symbol of authority, committees, boards of directors, and academic departments all have a 'chairman' or 'chair'.[8] Endowed professorships are referred to as chairs.[9] It was not until the 16th century that chairs became common.[10] Until then, people sat on chests, benches, and stools, which were the ordinary seats of everyday life. The number of chairs which have survived from an earlier date is exceedingly limited; most examples are of ecclesiastical, seigneurial or feudal origin.[citation needed] Chairs were in existence since at least the Early Dynastic Period of Egypt (c. 3100 BC). They were covered with cloth or leather, were made of carved wood, and were much lower than today's chairs - chair seats were sometimes only 10 inches (25 cm) high.[11] In ancient Egypt, chairs appear to have been of great richness and splendor. Fashioned of ebony and ivory, or of carved and gilded wood, they were covered with costly materials, magnificent patterns and supported upon representations of the legs of beasts or the figures of captives. Generally speaking, the higher ranked an individual was, the taller and more sumptuous was the chair he sat on and the greater the honor. On state occasions, the pharaoh sat on a throne, often with a little footstool in front of it. The average Egyptian family seldom had chairs, and if they did, it was usually only the master of the household who sat on a chair. Among the better off, the chairs might be painted to look like the ornate inlaid and carved chairs of the rich, but the craftsmanship was usually poor.[11] The earliest images of chairs in China are from 6th-century Buddhist murals and stele, but the practice of sitting in chairs at that time was rare. It was not until the 12th century that chairs became widespread in China. Scholars disagree on the reasons for the adoption of the chair. The most common theories are that the chair was an outgrowth of indigenous Chinese furniture, that it evolved from a camp stool imported from Central Asia, that it was introduced to China by Christian missionaries in the 7th century, and that the chair came to China from India as a form of Buddhist monastic furniture. In modern China, unlike Korea or Japan, it is no longer common to sit at floor level.[12] In Europe, it was owing in great measure to the Renaissance that the chair ceased to be a privilege of state and became a standard item of furniture for anyone who could afford to buy it. Once the idea of privilege faded the chair speedily came into general use. Almost at once the chair began to change every few years to reflect the fashions of the day. Thomas Edward Bowdich visited the main Palace of the Ashanti Empire in 1819, and observed chairs engrossed with gold in the empire.[14] In the 1880s, chairs became more common in American households and usually there was a chair provided for every family member to sit down to dinner. By the 1830s, factory-manufactured “fancy chairs” like those by Sears, Roebuck, and Co. allowed families to purchase machined sets. With the Industrial Revolution, chairs became much more available.[15] The 20th century saw an increasing use of technology in chair construction with such things as all-metal folding chairs, metal-legged chairs, the Slumber Chair,[citation needed] moulded plastic chairs and ergonomic chairs.[16] The recliner became a popular form, at least in part due to radio and television. In the 1930s, stair lifts were commercially available to help people suffering from Polio and other diseases to navigate stairs.[17] The modern movement of the 1960s produced new forms of chairs: the butterfly chair (originally called the Hardoy chair), bean bags, and the egg-shaped pod chair that turns. It also introduced the first mass-produced plastic chairs such as the Bofinger chair in 1966.[18] Technological advances led to molded plywood and wood laminate chairs, as well as chairs made of leather or polymers. Mechanical technology incorporated into the chair enabled adjustable chairs, especially for office use. Motors embedded in the chair resulted in massage chairs.[19] Chairs can be made from wood, metal, or other strong materials, like stone or acrylic. In some cases, multiple materials are used to construct a chair; for example, the legs and frame may be made from metal and the seat and back may be made from plastic. Chairs may have hard surfaces of wood, metal, plastic, or other materials, or some or all of these hard surfaces may be covered with upholstery or padding. The design may be made of porous materials, or be drilled with holes for decoration; a low back or gaps can provide ventilation. The back may extend above the height of the occupant's head, which can optionally contain a headrest. Chairs can also be made from more creative materials, such as recycled materials like cutlery and wooden play bricks, pencils, plumbing tubes, rope, corrugated cardboard, and PVC pipe.[20] In rare cases, chairs are made out of unusual materials, especially as a form of art or experimentation. Raimonds Cirulis, a Latvian interior designer, created a volcanic hanging chair that is handmade out of volcanic rock.[21][22] Peter Brenner, a Dutch-born German designer, has created a chair made from lollipop sugar - 60 pounds (27 kg) of confectioners' sugar.[23] Chair design considers intended usage, ergonomics (how comfortable it is for the occupant),[24] as well as non-ergonomic functional requirements such as size, stacking ability, folding ability, weight, durability, stain resistance, and artistic design. Ergonomic design distributes the weight of the occupant to various parts of the body. This is done by having an easily adjustable seat height.[25] A seat that is higher results in dangling feet and increased pressure on the underside of the knees ("popliteal fold"). It may also result in no weight on the feet which means more weight elsewhere. A lower seat may shift too much weight to the "seat bones" ("ischial tuberosities"). Gas springs are attached to the body of the chair in order to give height adjustment and more comfort to the user. Some chairs have foot rests. Around 15% of women and 2% of men need foot rests, even at the 16-inch (41 cm) chair height.[26] A stool or other simple chair may have a simple straight or curved bar near the bottom for the sitter to place their feet on. Actual chair dimensions are determined by measurements of the human body or anthropometric measurements. The two most relevant anthropometric measurement for chair design is the popliteal height and buttock popliteal length. For someone seated, the popliteal height is the distance from the underside of the foot to the underside of the thigh at the knees. It is sometimes called the "stool height". The term "sitting height" is reserved for the height to the top of the head when seated. For American men, the median popliteal height is 16.3 inches (41 cm) and for American women it is 15.0 inches (38 cm).[27] The popliteal height, after adjusting for heels, clothing and other issues, is used to determine the height of the chair seat. Mass-produced chairs are typically 17 inches (43 cm) high.[citation needed] Researchers such as Mary Blade and Galen Cranz found that sitting on the edge of a high stool with feet on the floor is less harmful for the lower back than sitting up straight on a conventional chair.[28] Different types of chairs can have a variety of seating positions, depending on the intended task. Typically, chairs intended for people completing work or dining can only recline very slightly (otherwise the occupant is too far away from the desk or table). Dental chairs are necessarily reclined. Research has shown that the best seated posture is a reclined posture of 100°-110°.[29] In order to recline, the back-rest may be independently adjustable. A reclining seat and back will reduce the load on the occupant's back muscles. In general, if the occupant is supposed to sit for a long time, weight needs to be taken off the seat area and thus "easy" chairs intended for long periods of sitting are generally at least slightly reclined. The back of the chair will support some of the weight of the occupant, reducing the weight on other parts of the body. Some back-rests support only the lumbar region, while shoulder height back-rests support the entire back and shoulders. Headrests support the head as well and are important in vehicles for preventing "whiplash" neck injuries in rear-end collisions where the head is jerked back suddenly. Reclining chairs typically have at least shoulder-height back-rests to shift weight to the shoulders. Hello Gordon! " -Dr Coomer, from half life. Keep in mind that cheating in a video game is not hacking. Downloading and opening files off the Internet is not hacking. Programming and coding is not hacking. Hacking is a separate art that utilizes programming and coding as well as other things. Calling a cheater in a video game a hacker is essentially glorifying them and making them sound "cooler" or some shit. Actual hackers, both good hearted and malicious, absolutely hate being compared and/or even viewed in the same way(s) as cheaters in video games. I can go on for a long time about this. I don't think Ruben here meant to call cheaters hackers in the way he said it, but it still affects the hacking community. On a better note, this video was pretty comedic. Good work, lad.
