nah the roles are reversed, you path find like the pathfinding npc while the pathfinding npc path finds like a real player

this is not that possible with this path finding system I think because the fact is, it need to do the path find everytime the player moved, which may take up some times(prob 0.1 sec) cuz we know how suck roblox server is and it may not able to do all these calculating instantly

i do wanna make something clear about roblox pathfinding, it is built to be safe meaning it won’t take risky jumps just to make sure it doesn’t fall. now, it would be cool if it were more customizable but cmon, we all know that’s not gonna happen. also, any problems like stuttering and what not, is not roblox’s fault. they provide you a tool to generate a path, it is then your job to make sure that npc uses that path correctly.

@@breakon_ it is roblox's fault. I made parts at the waypoints to see how the path looks. It was just a simple maze. The waypoints would go into the wall and then come out of another 30 studs ahead.

I'm picturing a game concept, where you have to make a path for a basic pathfinding NPC to follow with only a certain amount of blocks that you're allowed to place, going from a start block to a finish block. There are immovable bricks in some puzzles to add challenge and their counterpart, immovable kill bricks. it would definitely take way too much effort to make though

No, it won't work with any large obbies. It will only work on smaller ones. That is also assuming that those obbies are completely static and have no dynamic environment in them-like rotating blocks.

I’m just gonna guess he’s trapped in the basement and he’s gonna make a path finding now to find possible ways to escape, and there are multiple obby courses. If he dies he has to watch the pathfinding npc suck at Obie’s for the red of his life as the npc tortures him the way he tortures the npc by trying to make him learn that actions have consequences…. And then he dies But the good ending is that he escapes. The end :D
