For lower gears, I'd say go with hyperlaser gun too in all honesty, because people will actually trade for it. I even got 2k for it one time even when it was at 1k.

For the trading you could have tried tradong for a different item of the same value but more wanted instead of basically skipping the hardest part of trading where you have so little and not many options if an item goes down or up
