It was Christmas Day, 1944. A U.S. Navy C-47 Skytrain with five men aboard was en route from Naval Air Station, Olathe, Kansas, to Columbus, Ohio. It was a routine training flight. The pilot was beginning his landing approach into the Indianapolis municipal airport but a heavy fog shrouded the runway. Realizing that he had overshot the runway, the pilot attempted to pull up but slammed into a tree. Everyone on board was killed. A freak accident? Yes. A rare occurrence? Heavier-than-air flying machines, operated by young, inexperienced pilots (and even seasoned veterans), are subject to mechanical failure, unfavorable weather conditions, and human error-even before they arrive in an overseas combat zone, where the dangers quickly multiply. Planes (and gliders, too) have crashed ever since they were first invented. But with the tremendous buildup of aviation forces during the war-with rushed training and a punishing manufacturing schedule to churn out planes (the aircraft plant operated by Ford Motor Company at its huge Willow Run, Michigan, facility built a complete B-24 every hour; see WWII Quarterly, Spring 2017), things were bound to go wrong. Accidents happened even before the start of the war. Boeing bet the company’s future on its design for a new, four-engine bomber, the B-17. The prototype, known as Model 299, took off from Dayton’s Wright Field on October 30, 1935, with Chief Test Pilot Leslie R. Tower at the controls. (The plane’s maiden flight had occurred three months earlier.) Everything went perfectly during the flight-until it was time to land. A part that was inadvertently left in a locked position caused Model 299 to crash, killing Tower and his co-pilot, Major Pete Hill. Undeterred by the fatal mishap, the government awarded Boeing a contract to build 13 more B-17s. Eventually the company would build nearly 7,000 of them, while two other contractors built another 5,745. In another prewar accident, on June 17, 1940, two twin-engine Douglas B-18 bombers, with 11 men on board, were flying out of Mitchel Field, Long Island, New York, when one passed too closely beneath the other. The mid-air collision resulted in airplane parts, engines, fuel, and bodies raining down on Bellerose, New York. Everyone on board was killed, as was a woman on the ground. Gliders have their own particular dangers. On the sweltering day of August 1, 1943, a large crowd had gathered at Lambert Field, the St. Louis, Missouri, municipal airport, to watch a glider demonstration. A local company, the Robertson Aviation Corporation, had just built a CG-4A troop-carrying glider and the government was eager to show it off in hopes of increasing the sales of war bonds. On board the glider were 10 of St. Louis’s most prominent citizens: Mayor William Dee Becker, Thomas Dysart of the Chamber of Commerce, Judge Henry Mueller, and Max Doyne of the city’s public utilities department, along with William B. On July 23rd 1975, a massive cargo plane carrying 17 US soldiers to their home country from Iraq collided with a small private jet high above the French Alps. the pilots struggles to keep the plane in the air, but it was in vain. the right wing broke off from the plane and the massive jet enters a spiral dive, which they did not recover from. the plane disintegrates mid air and caught fire as it descent rapidly. none of the 17 people on board the cargo plane and the 3 people on the small private jet survived the tragic crash. may their souls rest in peace🙏

On May 24th 1997 A C-17 Globemaster was doing a mission in Lewiston, Idaho. And when they were done with the mission when the turned the plane the wing fell. Before the mission nobody saw the wing damaged and the intense aerodynamic forces mad the wing fell of and the plane was out of control. And all 13 soldiers and pilots died.

The 1943 Pacific island incident: The 1943 Pacific Island incident was a disaster where a bomber containing 7 American soldiers were going along their normal bombing exercise when a Japanese Battleship "Yamato 2 km Southeast of the island started firing anti aircraft and artillery 1 hour into the mission towards the lead plane. One of the shots had hit the right wing with such precision that the wing had begun to be dismantled in front of their eyes, the plane had started to dive down after the wing had been destroyed. The captain John McCain Jr had ejected from the aircraft just moments before it had burst into flames, the plane had direct collision with the ground immediately exploding with such force that the pieces were scattered all across the area of collision. The captain, horrified and frozen with fear had forgotten to dispatch his parachute in shock of the disaster, and landed on the grass breaking his legs and fracturing his skull and ribs. McCain had died on impact. this event was nicknamed "The Pacific Island turkey shoot" was an attack that marked the start of the Pacific Island war, a time of depression among the Island that caused many lives to be taken. Condolences to McCain and the Soldier's families, a memorial was made on Pacific Island for the Brave heroes that passed away on that dark day.

During the prelude and early days of the battle of Bloxburg which went on from November 2, 2026 to December 17, 2026, a massive evacuation operation was activated to evacuate the civilians out of the city. Pilot Jack Herman and his Copilot, Brent Hernandez, was tasked to safely evacuate Civilians out of Bloxburg. They were manning an aged C-130 that was recently pulled out of storage. Days before the battle of Bloxburg, Jack and his copilot was going back and fourth, evacuating civilians as much and fast as they could, at a whopping 1,200 civilians per day. However this much amount usage and weight on the plane put a massive amount of stress to the aged aircraft. On the first day of the battle of Bloxburg. Enemy forces have arrived outside of Bloxburg and laid siege to the City. It was at this time when enemy fighters have also appeared. Back to Jack and Brent, they were evacuating civilians with their aircraft, numbering 120 souls, when they suddenly encounter an enemy fighter squadron. Jack and Brent were not alone, as they were escorted by two Fighters. The fight starts with the escort fighters breaking off and engaging the enemy squadron. Jack and Hernandez were performing evasive maneuvers and attempting to escape when an enemy fighter spots the cargo plane and starts to engage. To Jack and Brent's luck, the enemy fighter missed them. But their luck would end there, as when they try to get away, the old and overstressed C-130 finally gave out and the right wing broke off the aircraft, causing the plane to plunge and crash to the ground, taking both Jack and Brent, along with 108 people. Only 12 would survive the crash. Why did this happen? The Aircraft that Jack and Brent manned was an old C-130, one of the first created in the Vietnam war. It was placed into storage shortly after the Vietnam war, but was taken out of storage during the Robloxian war to fill the gaps on the lack of Aircrafts. The C-130 at this point was barely working, and it sported Outdated technology, but it was patched up, albeit just enough for it to work. The mishandling of this plane combined with the maneuvers performed by Jack and Brent is what ultimately caused it to crash, when they were trying to escape the enemy, they exerted too much stress to the Aircraft and this, combined with the age and lack of maintenance due to storage, caused the right wing to fail in mid-air which caused the crash. This tragedy has left a deep scar in the lives of those affected by it. Jack and Brent's families have been deeply affected by their loss, and the survivors will never forget the tragedy that has occurred in their lives. The Bloxburg Crash has served as a sad reminder of the dangers of war. It is a tragedy that will never be forgotten. On the 23rd of August 2023, Yevgeniy Vicktorovich Prigozhin died in an airplane crash. The airplane was en route from Moscow to Saint Petersburg when it crashed, killing all 10 people on board. A Wagner-associated Telegram channel claimed the jet was shot down by Russian air defenses over Tver Oblast. This assertion was contested due to the lack of visible missile trails in the released footage. According to U.S. and other Western officials, "preliminary intelligence reports led them to believe that an explosion on board likely brought down the aircraft in Russia, killing all the passengers aboard."

In 1945 AKA the end of WW2, a cargo plane holding 50 paratroopers was en route from Seattle, Washington to Wichita, Kansas. The plane was flying through Missouri but something happend. The pilot James hackner and Captain Liam Webb felt something coming from the right wing. The right wing snapped off. The plane hits the ground and only James and Liam survived. The 50 paratrooper's died.

In 1999, A cargo C-12 (FICTIONAL) Was delivering cargo from Robloxia (KRBX) to New York. (KJFK) the aircraft was told to climb to 35,000 feet meanwhile they were now cruising at 35K FT. They flew By San Francisco and Chicago 50 minutes later. They are now passing Philadelphia. after one hour, the plane is now cleared to descend ILS to John F Kennedy intl. Meanwhile during descent, an airshow was held really near John F. Kennedy airport. at 3047 ft, the plane continues to descend to JFK but later the wing of the plane gets hit to the other plane passing it. Making it both planes wings to detach. The C-12 wing when it detached it ripped the plane into pieces. Causing it for the cargo to fall the plane fell rapidly that it caught fire, also throwing the Captain out. the C-12 and the blue angels plane slams to the ground exploding. Luckily, the pilot had a parachute so he didn't die but the F/O died. Also in the blue angels plane too both pilots died. Deaths: 3 Survivors: 1 Injuries: 1

In honor for chalel nodes quiting KZbin i replace his story for a new one. 2011, 17, August. Plane crash incident: Skyflyer Cargo-182 was heading to Robloxian Townsville airport from Robloxian International airport, Pilot James ganava and Co pilot light avak was piloting the plane. The cargo they are carrying is building equipment, theres 5 crewmen in the cargo. The incident: During there flight to Townsville airport one of them notice that the Right wing is about to fall off they try to contact the nearest airport, But It was too late the right wing fall off causing the cargo plane to lost control and hit the ground killing all of the crewmen. Aftermath: The International airport safety (IAS) investigate what happen and why the right wing fell off After some investigating they did realize that 6 screw wasn't even screwed a engineer failed to notice it and that caused the right wing of the cargo to fall off. Thats the story! I hope Chalel nodes see this (actually im chalel nodes)

My theories Theory 1: At 0:04 you could see a blue plane pass by. Maybe the blue plane struck some of the wing and it fell of shortly after? Or Theory 2: at 0:10 you can see that the wing falls off.
