Duncan won, because there were no specific rules setting him against roping himself to the platform, and the side, no less. He could have easily been thrown off due to the fact that the rope was attached to the SIDE of the platform, and could have hit the ground, but it didn't. You see that ledge halfway down the platform? His mech was standing on that and the top of it, therefore, never going off of the platform, as in his mech's feet not touching the flat part of the platform, because there were two flat parts of the platform, and his robot stood on both. Checkmate.

now i agree that he won, but the rope wasn't tied to the platform, that was a visual glitch. i've done enough bad gmod builds to know that. however, the rope was attached to the other foot, which allowed it to stay because it was pushing on the wall, so the other one wouldn't move

Duncan won because, although he didn't move much, it was intended as he he the thrusters down. Also, the machine was going to win wether or not ridge suicided, because of his rope. I see haters in the comments saying that Duncan only won because of his rope are wrong as he created the idea of stretched rope, making his idea unique and he said it wasn't complete, so he would've added more thrusters for movement

-Duncan's robot definitely had stability on his side, with all the thrusters and rope, he's certainly able to hold against any ram for a certain amount of time. The certain amount of time part is because that even with all that stability, too much/enough force could break the stability point and finally fall. -Ridge's seems to be more for rams than other things. But, he didn't put enough thrusters. By that I mean for stability and control, rather than lift, to explain it more simple, if Ridge had put certain thrusters on certain points, he could have driven his robot back to the platform, rather than just making him lose. -Lewis', I can't really explain. His hammer was surely able to crush a person, but because in Gmod there's "note clip". So his hammer actually goes through the other's robots, rather than hammering them into pancakes. But he does have another advantage, because the size of his robot, his lag spike will effect the others, making them have slow reaction time and giving Lewis enough time to pound them if he timed it right. -Simon's looks like a more simple type to Duncan's. He is able to distract his opponents, but not eliminate them. Even though he lacks of any weapons like Duncan's, but his robot lacks stability which leads to limited walking capacity and vulnerable frailty to any sort of rams or melee attacks like Lewis's hammer, and Sjin's spinning hammer. -Sips' robot was sure impressive and strange. His robot has stability and ramming speed with also a good amount of turning speed. But he lacks of one thing, "Brakes". His robot was good with rams, but because he didn't put any thrusters on the front of his robot, his robot had problems of stoping after ramming. Meaning that he could have (which he did) fall off the platform. His robot was also hilarious, if you saw the time when Duncan fell, his robot looked like an angry dog. -Sjin's robot was surely interesting, but was not impressive. He wanted to look cool and menacing, but he got carried away by putting plates on the wheels, which makes his hard to move, and also, his spinning hammer had to catch up to speed. His hammer also had the same problem like Lewis', "note clip". (This was all based on my analysis, so if you have difference in opinion, just say it)
