RoboBiggles - Scale FPV Highlights 2019

More planes than ever, an invite to inspect the real cockpits of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight so I could set camera height more accurately and flying with great people. The Me 110 was flown by Leon Nicholls LOS with RoboBiggles on the FPV goggles, Viper was flown FPV by Christian Abeln (aka RoboFritz) - he also flew the He111 LOS with RoboBiggles on the goggles - quad footage of the B17 courtesy of Yik Chung.

Admire your field research to set proper camera height in Hurricane to get realistic pilot field of view. The dogfighting clip in the end by the German squadron is awesome!

Hello Rob Your cockpits and the videos are incredibly cool! I have been flying for a long time and would also like to build an FPV cockpit. Which plane would you recommend, I would prefer to take a WWII. Do you also announce building tips or do you have a forum where you give information on how to build the cockpits? I enjoy your videos. Do you use the stock canopies, or do you remove them or replace with clearer plastic? I bought a Hookll PC9 planning to set it up like you do, and I think it's too wavy. Do you have a particular camera that you like?

I always remove the stock glazing but leave the frame. Sometimes I then reglaze with optically clear acetate sheet - available from art & craft shops. My preferred cameras are Mobius 1 & Runcam Split v2. Hope you enjoy setting up the PC9!

Hey! I love your scale cockpit builds - just doing one for a Spitfire - how did you realize the control of the Joystick? with separate servos - or with attaching it to the real rudder / ailerons? do you maybe have pictures of how you did it ??

It's a separate servo connected to the aileron channel on a Y lead Bjorn. You can put it on a separate channel and mix it to the aileron in the TX, but I didnt have a spare channel in this model.

is there a Soundmodul on board , or do you edit Sound after cutting?

No Dreck. It is edited after cutting. I have used sound modules in the past, but they add too much weight with all the FPV gear already added.

@@johnlancaster1960 ah ok , understand , thats a big Deal for wight , but it would be amazing . But there if got now one Imagination for more Imersion . What s about to bring only the audio signal to the Vtx board and send it with the Video , so you can minimize the weight because you only addit a chipset in your plane , and as big pros you got the best sounds over Earbuds in your Ears and you are able to record the real sound to the fly video . That would be awesome ... What do you think about it ? I come from the Fpv drone guys , and just started again now with planes after 30 years , I saw your videos and purchased last week the hole Dji HD Stuff , and really exciting to build my own immersive Warbird

@@johnlancaster1960 Wow you really dressed that bird up. BTW not sure if you are familiar with the funky right flat turn the 110 can do usually when rotating. It is odd in that some have experienced this but most have not.
