The story behind it was after Robocop came out the designer saw some knock-off toys of Robo and got rather incensed. So when Robocop 2 got greenlit he said he would make something so difficult that it would be almost impossible to easily build. And he was right - very few aftermarket RoboCains came out... according to Phil Tippit.

Seeing that model surprises me about how many cables are exposed to the open on the Cain Cyborg. You would expect that if you build a tank of a cyborg, you would hide them away as much as possible.
