Nolan's Dark Night Rises literally took the idea from RoboCop 3 specially the fight scene between police and the thugs and Robocop flies to save the day

Previous movies robocop 1&2 a both rated R but after their release the director of the film decided to make a 3rd robocop film which was rated pg 13 because i think many kids and teens wanted a 3rd robocop because about the selling toys so it became true

I remember the hype around this film. The jetpack was a huge selling point and there was a videogame beinng shown in game magazines. But I could not watch it before years because it wasn't released in my country. I was so frustrated. Years later I found the VHS but got a weird surprises that I rented some sort of Robocop Tv movie. Finally when I saw it on TV the hype was definitely gone and I was a bit too old, but still it was fun

I hear ya. My parents knew and let me watched the first two films that were R rated but wouldnt let me see this one,lol. I later read the Super NES game was bad of the movie i had the toy figures. And remember watching Rememer Robocop:The Series on tv and years later read that the series is canon only after the first film and character names were changed due to rights because the show was made in Canada. But i like to think the series is canon after Robocop 3 loosely.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III & Robocop 3 came out in '93 and had so many things in common: Ninja Turtles III didn't have Shredder nor Tatsu, but had the return of Casey Jones and Robocop 3 didn't have Peter Weller nor The Old Man, but had the return of the music from the 1st film (I did enjoy the music from Robocop 2) Judith Hoag, Paige Turco, Nancy Allen & Jill Hennessey are still beautiful ladies

The reviews of this are always a bit exaggerated. Parts 1 and 2 will always be the superior films (ESPECIALLY part 1; that film is untouchable), but this had a few entertaining action sequences and had the Robocop theme. I didn’t care for how Lewis was killed off, but the storyline was pretty good. The only thing I thought was lame was the jetpack, which thankfully wasn’t in much of the movie. I would’ve loved an R rating here as much as the next guy, but this is the film we got. It still gives a nice nostalgic feel and has a personality, unlike the goofy-ass remake. I’ll gracefully take this over any modern day Follywood movie.

What I didn’t like about Robocop 3 is that it was a 1hr 45 minutes of this movie which was short, I felt like Robocop 3 could’ve been like a 3hr 59 minutes of the movie which would’ve been better than a short 1hr 45 minutes because that would’ve been wonderful and still keep it as a rated r, but what I love about Robocop 3 is that Robert john burke did a great impression of robocop I mean his voice sounded cool and nice he literally did wonderful by becoming Robocop but not only that his switched his left arm to a submachine gun that had a gernade launcher and a flamethrower which is new and that jet pack he was wearing is literally glorious I love that, but still I think Robocop 3 should’ve been a 3hr 59 minutes and still keep it as a rated r 1993’s movie.

Peter Weller stated in interviews that the Robocop costume was too hot. In between takes, the crew would point air conditioners at him to cool him down.

@turtlelover789 The actual reason Weller didn't do the third movie is that he was committed to doing Naked Lunch. He asked the studio to wait but Orion was desperate to make another movie to stop themselves going bankrupt so they had to choose another actor for Robocop. Weller apparently went into the studio and was very apologetic even though he couldn't have prevented this from happening. Hope that helps.

I wonder what Peter Weller thought of the movie aswell as remake and which between the two he'd choose over the other. Sad that Robocop: The Series wasn't canon and followed the 3 films timeline but most of that show's episodes were bad. Early 90's when they really wanted to toned violence in movies & shows down. I did not like Robocop Prime Directive movies. I watched only the first two and they were god awful and boring that i didnt bother watching the rest of them. All those made Robocop 3 deserve 5 stars.

All he did was kill people until Robocop eventually defeated him. Almost everything that lead up to the end of the movie was pointless. The movie kept ignoring the events of the first movie and they put these ideas together in the movie that went literally nowhere. The majority of the movie seemed like filler.
