I think that by trying to save the old man, he finally and understands what made Robocop successful and popular with the people of Detroit: his empathy. And by saving Robocop from getting killed, the old man got to die as a human being, not as a soulless machine. It's ironic that the old man learned more about empathy and humanity in that one moment of death, then he ever did in the long time that he was alive. Because of this, I think the scene was worth it. Even if Robocop couldn't save the old man's body, he succeeded in saving the old man's soul.

I don't know why, but I really hate the old man fight. I think that it's because of how long the fight takes. I mean, it makes sense to have the old man in a mech body. The plot for this game made more sense than Robocop 3 made. Only question I have is, if the old man hated Robocop so much, why push him out of the way? If the Old Man didn't hate Robocop, then what was the point of putting so much effort in fighting him?
@actionkid2025 Жыл бұрын
Robocop showed him mercy so he saved Robocop in turn and I think the old man was suffering inside the mech body so he was on a killing rampage, he wasn't that evil as Cain.
@picklegamin Жыл бұрын
I dislike the lack of innovation in the old man fight, I get it, fighting Cane is kind of cool. However; they could've given us something larger, more menacing, more imposing. It would've been a much more fun fight. Still loved the game however.

The issue with making a "new" robocop in universe is that they all go insane and end themselves or others. The old man hoped he could be like robocop, but obviously could not. He started to come back if you save him, but it's too late by then
@jasonphillips5816 Жыл бұрын
I think it's because the old man is conflicted, other attempts at producing a Robocop caused extreme anger and madness in the subjects, if you watch the video of other Robocop's being made in Robocop 2 one of the Robocop's commits suicide.

I thought the fight was over really quickly. I managed to get to the first two cut scenes just by shooting the weak spot. He didn't even get close to me and it was done in under 10 seconds. The third part took a little longer. I had it on hardest difficulty but my omni chip was pretty well upgraded. I found the first ED-209 battle the most difficult one in the game. That took me 3 or 4 goes.

Does the ending cutscene and dialoge change depending on your choice? I just beat it. Before the mission I talked to all the main side characters and they all improved. Got over trauma, news woman became a better person. All of them became better people. Does that change depending on my choices in the game? And does the final cut scene change if ai don't save the old man??

The ending where you kill the Old Man is the one where mills resigns as Mayor, and everyone turns on Robocop. The psychiatrist ends up going mad, which I thought was funny.
@DanielFearn-wc9hh6 ай бұрын
@@cadderley100 I think those endings are more to do with other decisions in the game. I killed him and no one turned on Robocop. They were all praising him as a hero. I think the psychiatrists ending is to do with how she perceives machines in the end and the Mayors is dependent on who you support during the game.

@@Mighty-Man Yes, at the end of the game. If you play Murphy as a hero-cop then saving will be in character. If you play as a ruthless upholder of the law who sees the world in black and white then outright killing would be the choice for you. Having the game automaically kill OM would mess with the character you have made. That's the point of a morality system: choice.

@@Mighty-ManThe Old Man is not in RoboCop 3 and this game bridges the gap between 2 and 3. Thus he had to die in the end, but the manner in which he does is up to the player.
