@buschacha4 жыл бұрын
Rich Amar TSA has guidelines on bringing firearms onto flights on their website, the short version is: yes you can fly with it, but it has to be in your checked luggage in a locked hard sided case. No grenades or CO2 canisters allowed at all. And make sure you’ve got orange tips on everything. It also doesn’t hurt to call the airline ahead of time to see if they have any additional policies regarding airsoft guns.

Robo, as an active US military member this was a good video. Logical format and distribution of gear. As new airsofter looking at MilSim to augment my own training this a was great video with really good/logical ideas. Keep'em coming, you're doing an awesome job.

+Vodka2051 Thank you very kindly for the words of encouragement! I try to do things as logical and helpful as they can be - whether that be HOW I apply my skills in airsoft on the field, to how I think about things off the field. If it helps others - that's the track I want to be on. Thank you for stopping by to give me the feedback, and to watch the video! Thank you for your service!

An important note for everyone with zipper bags!!!! Locks do not matter. You can stick a pen between the zips to open it up, whatever goes into a zipper bag is easily accessible to a thief - I'm unsure on workarounds, but keep this in mind before adding a lock and thinking it's foolproof.
@robomurrayairsoft6 жыл бұрын
Locks aren't useless in this case - it's about understanding how that technique works. 1) Locks are about deterrence; 2) thieves only will bypass locks if they know it can go undetected. As I said previously - it's about understanding that theft technique: it works because you can split the zipper in the middle with a pen and open it all the way around. But - people do it only when they can drag the zipper again from one far end of the zipper to the other, closing it again. No one does this technique and leaves the bag open. To defeat it - you just need to lock the zippers in the middle of the bag, to something ON the bag. In the case of this bag specifically - it has zippered pockets on the front of the bag which you can lock the main compartment zippers to, thereby making it literally impossible to take the zippers to either end of their track, by a long way.
@yeyetimmyboyox6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Most people won't think of this when they see a lock that intimidates them, as you say its a no-brainer deterrent. However, if someone suspects you have expensive goods in the bag, they may be willing to compromise on certain aspects of their usual behaviour (desperation, amongst other factors, could play a role). Of course a lot of situational dependencies take point here and I doubt someone is going to do this on the tube, or with it next to your person. But it's definitely worth mentioning for people who didn't know how easy the internals of a bag can be accessed unless it's hard shell, such as your gun case!
@robomurrayairsoft6 жыл бұрын
Sure. But at the same time, locks on bags are generally for when you're doing air travel, and it's over the concern of some airport employee opening the bag and swiping something before you ever get it returned to you and/or the time it takes most to notice something is gone. The chain of custody for bags at an airport are such that if someone has to forcibly open your bag (say by compromising the zipper) without being able to close it again, it's an IMMEDIATE security risk, and will be dealt with by airport security immediately in kind. Hence why I said, if you lock the zippers to the middle of the zipper track, it makes it impossible to use that technique and get away with it. As long as you do that - baggage locks are actually quite effective. Doesn't mean some dumbass thief won't try it...but willing to bet they'll get caught immediately because they're a dumbass.
