When Roborock released the Q Revo in 2023 it quickly became one of Roborock's best selling models with most of the features of the bigger S series at a fraction of the price. Now Roborock is offering 2 additional models the Q Revo MaxV & Q Revo Pro which are both upgraded models with more features and in this video I will highlight the differences between them compared to the original Q Revo.

I love your reviews. Very fair to the different robots. What I am excited "potential" about is the one you can hook up to your plumbing so you don't need to worry about the size of the tanks. I have chatted with Roborock around 4 times and each rep has said there will be an option to connect to you plumbing. Now the wait is on!

I would love a comparison between the original Q Revo and the new MaxV to see if the object avoidance is a good bit better or only slightly better. Also to see if it cleans much better than the original. It has higher suction power but that doesn't always translate into a much better pick up. It will be better at mopping close to walls obviously but see if the smaller tanks in the MaxV could be a problem. If it could do the same space as the original. Love your content.

Looking forward to your review Jamie. Hopefully you can also do a comparison with the new S8 MaxV Ultra. It seems to have some more objects it detects, a different mopping system, autocleaning of the base itself and optionally direct plumming. Not sure if these are worth the extra cost.

Also I still do not fully understand the one versus two brush difference. I have an iRobot 2 brush model that works well with the hairs of my 2 dogs, without entangling. The manual says one brush sweeps the floor, the other pushes dirt upward. But the Q Revo seems to work well with just one brush. When available, and after watching your reviews, I will buy either the Q Revo MaxV or the S8 MaxV.

@@petitbarzun the double brush is for better agitation of the carpet to remove the hairs out of it. Other than that the double brush system on Roborock vacuums is subpar a single brush

No unless you need the improved obstacle avoidance of the MaxV or want hot water mop washing and edge mopping that come in both the Pro and MaxV.

I just got the current model q revo. It does go over cables and even almost got tangled and stuck once, but it's actually fairly decent with obstacles even without having a camera and doesn't constantly bump into everything like older robots used to. I'm generally satisfied with it so far, hopefully it will maintain performance with minimal upkeep over the next few years (if not even gain software functionality). It's expensive but compared to flagship models it's affordable, it's mostly quiet, it mostly works in a systematic pattern and where it does clean it cleans as well as I can expect a vacbot to clean (at least compared to its current competition). I did notice some long hairs tangled on its brush once but the roller seems to be fine. Since it doesn't have the edge wiggle function I think the extension of the mop could be the most meaningful upgrade, the rest are negligible to me. I hope they stop being butt hurt and enable the wiggle function like they did in the equivalent Chinese model. Raising the brush could help its longevity (but is also another complicated mechanism that could fail), raising the the mops an extra 3 mm isn't much but welcomed anyway. Edit: it does get stuck on cables sometimes. It also grabbed and carried a floor rag and tried to go into the base with it. And even though there's an option in the map to indicate where there's a mirror that goes all the way down to the floor which does slightly help, it still makes mistakes in the map and there's no way to manually change it. At least it doesn't try to go through it. Even with these issues I'm still satisfied, at least I didn't pay double for the flagship models and it cleans great.

No. The pads do lift higher than the original Q Revo though.

leaving the pads on the dock is a really useless feature. You need 2 passes to clean your house, 1 for vacuum and another for mopping. Well then you can do exactly the same without detaching the pads, since they are dry on the first pass

The only reason I had gone with dreame was with the obstacle avoidance but now that roborock has upgraded there back to the s7 maxv days idk I think it will become king again the app is literally flawless as well as mopping the vacuuming at time can lack but I’m not sure what to do keep the dreame or wait and get the q revo with the upgraded camera

The Q Revo MaxV look really good. I just bought a Samsung Jetbot AI+ but i can still return it. I know Samsung has a Jetbot Combo they're announcing at CES too. I thought i didnt want a mop function but now i do 😅

@@jamie.andrews They came late to the party with vacuum only. There is a press release preview out on their new vacuum/mop combo. Features look comparable to high end Dreame and Roborock. I think it's unveiled tomorrow. I'll probably return my current jet bot and wait then decide between the Q Revo MaxV or Jetbot combo. I've enjoyed your videos really great content.

@@jamie.andrews I can attest to that. My mother. in law gave us a samsung cordless vacuum cleaner that was 900 bucks. It looks fancy and has plenty of features, but it's very apparent it was made by engineers who are not specialised in this particular line of products.

There are several differences with the S8 MaxV. It has dual rollers that are able to lift. It has a different mopping system that uses a vibrating and lifting mopping plat that can lift a lot higher that the Q Revo. It has a side brush that extends out to reach in corners. @@jamie.andrews I am so glad Reactive AI has returned. I still wish the water tank and mopping plate are removable, however. Also it empties with a port like the Q Revo series and not by spinning the dual brush rollers. Hope the hard floor pickup is better on this model!

A bunch of new robots were introduced this year, I've been thinking about getting the Q Revo and I might hold off and get the Q Revo Pro, I don't use obstacle avoidance and I actually disable it on the robots that I have that have this feature since it may cause the robots not to clean as close to walls. Interestingly, Eureka introduced a new robot too, I think it's called the G20 and it sounds really interesting. As these brands introduce new robots, Irobot continues to fall farther and farther behind with their Roomba products. Their current flagship, the combo J9 plus fills the water tank but it has no spinning or vibrating mop, it doesn't clean or dry its mop pad, and it still uses VSLAM for navigation which is not as good as Lidar. Companies such as Ecovacs, Roborock, and Dreametech are walking all over them.

I'd heard of the robot vacs, but assumed they were only good for hard flooring, and that they bounced around all day from wall to wall. The Dreame L20 Ultra is my first, and it's already changed my life. Now a robot for the yard!? I just found one that has an attachable sweeper. I have trees, and they love to drop flowers, leaves, or fuzzy things. I also have pine trees, they drop cones that aren't to nice on my EGO mower. The robot I'm looking at (The Ecoflow blade) has a sweeper attachment, you can sweep first then mow and sweep. This spring I'll have a lawnbot, not sure which.

@@kewlztertc5386 Hi, we have trees too. When it storms they drop small branches. When there are a lot I manually remove them. Leaves, flowers, and very small branches are just cut in to pieces, so they do not need to be removed. The Ecoflow looks like a great mower, so does the Mammotion Luba AWD.

I have 2 cats at home, and was bothered by their fur every day. Last year I saw some review videos and finally bought roborock Q Revo. It proved to be very useful and completely freed my hands. I hope roborock can produce more cost-effective machines like Q Revo.

Compared other robot vacuums in the same price range, the Q Revo MaxV really hits the mark for me. Fantastic suction and excellent obstacle avoidance, and the FlexiArm is totally cool. My friend who already bought Q Revo also said it is great. Can't wait for the upgrade version Q Revo MaxV launch!😍

Snagged a QRevo for $600 USD on Amazon. While I am still within the return window, I don't see the new models being worth 2x what I paid just yet. Obstacle avoidance is still a bit poor on the QRevo but I don't think we have any guarantees that their new AI avoidance will be any better just yet. Shrinking water tank size is a bit disappointing though but a worthy sacrifice for the heated water feature.

$600 is a great price for the Q Revo. Hot water mop washing has not really impressed me on the Ecovacs models so we will have to see if Roborock can get theirs to work right. Essentially you would have to wash the pads back to back 2 or 3 times to get the water temp up to spec. On a side note that would be a huge disappointment if the object avoidance systems on the MaxV is a fail since that is what really justifies the price increase over the Pro model. I don't have a bunch of details on the MaxV Object avoidance, but I suspect it is very similar to the one used on the S7 MaxV.
