This was always a good watch on DVD back when there was barely any way to watch full RW episodes. I even have the toy replica of the trophy for this tournament which also leads me onto another note... God rest your soul, Marc Thorpe. You created a truly fun & pretty underrated sport.

Unsurprising, though, when Mentorn were so incompetent in Series 3 that it’s amazing it turned out as well as it did. It was this same year they aggravated Rex Garrod to where he stormed out and never returned.

I really enjoy the creativity these builders display. I really, really dislike the way the house robots get involved and seldom watch this channel because of it. The producers of this show need to take a cue from the Norwalk Havoc Robot League (NHRL) and the way they use their house bots.

The house robots spoil the show. It should be 1 on 1, but when the house robots damage 1 of the competitors, it is not right that the other competitor is given the win.
@ryanodonovan9497Ай бұрын
Simple - stay out of their CPZs. Besides, competitors had more of a habit in the earlier seasons of breaking down more easily, so the House Robots were needed to make more of a spectacle by dismantling the defeated further. And remember, you have to have as much content as possible to get TV audiences’ attention.

As quoted from Vincent Blood's words in Robot Wars Magazine's second edition, *"Filming the First World Championships started the day after the final of UK Series III."* Amazing. Good choice of a full episode to upload, though really the International League Championship (again) should be uploaded as it’s one episode that never has been before in high definition. As for this episode, despite how good it is, there are a few points of criticism to make… - Nice job not realising Mauler was too unsafe for the arena until they were already in the UK, Mentorn! Couldn’t you have learned this immediately and got another American machine instead of wasting the Mauler team’s time? Of course not - the health and safety department was, after all, the reason Rex Garrod got fed up with the show and walked out, never to return. - Why was 101 in this at all when it was never anything special to represent England? Every battle it won prior was by nothing but dumb luck that its opposition broke down. And that same dumb luck happened again here with Panic Attack accidentally reversing into the pit in the first round. I’ve seen people stupidly describe Razer as being overrated, but to me 101 is what’s overrated. I DON’T CARE about cost-effectiveness - only whether or not it’s properly superior in combat! You seriously don’t think that maybe… HYPNO-DISC should’ve been in 101’s place when - aside from BEATING 101 - it won the Most Original Entry Award for its innovative design making it a breakout star? I also find it astounding that Mike Franklin warned Team Razer that he wouldn’t be able to compete in Series 4 if 101’s drive motors were damaged. Like, really? Firstly, it’s your own problem and no one else’s if you risk irreplaceable equipment in a war zone. And secondly, how was Team Razer supposed to be _that_ accurate to avoid piercing something they couldn’t see, from all the way up in their control booth, and with so much moving around from the robots?! 🙄 - In case anyone still thinks this, no, Behemoth was NOT robbed in the final and Razer was the rightful winner, because the latter’s attacks not only equalled Behemoth’s, but inflicted DAMAGE, which is the most important of the scoring criteria. And no, the House Robots didn’t unfairly help out Razer - they were enforcing RULES before Refbot was built to do that. Matilda separated the two robots because Behemoth was pressing Razer down indefinitely, which was illegal. And it wasn’t even her who righted Razer, but Behemoth. Nor did Dead Metal right Razer - only push it off the flame grill because those hazards aren’t meant to trap robots in place. And no, this wasn’t just made up to cater to Razer like biased and hypocritical naysayers of the robot claim - _before_ this, Abaddon was pushed off the flame grill for the same reason, and that was an awkward newcomer facing a previous Heat finalist. Death Warmed Up was also separated from the grill for this reason, and that robot was as poor as its predecessor Piece de Resistance. If you don’t complain about them being separated from the flame grill when stuck there, there’s no legitimate reason to treat Razer differently. None at all. - Why is the awarding of the trophy just a repeat of the International League Championship? You can clearly see that title written on the trophy itself. What, couldn’t the real trophy be filmed for some reason?
