Aber die Zivilbevölkerung, mit Raketen , von oben, Von hinten , jeder Uhrzeit , unbewaffnette Frauen , Kinder , Omas und Opas zu töten . Eine große stolze starke Armee , würde auf dem Schlachtfeld kämpfen und nicht wie ein Feigling , jemanden mit 5 Leuten , von hinten ein Messer in den Rücken rammen. Die Wirklichkeit für Russland ist jetzt, das Rußland Chinas lackei ist, der kleine Nachbar , und nicht mehr Partner auf Augenöhe ist.

Slowing down and making vehicles and equipment go around their planned route which sets them up to run over mines on to the sides of the crater and into the wide open fields where their freedom of movement is hindered. This creates an attack point for troops and artillery to target the Russians and the vehicles that come through, especially if they lose some of that land and retreat. It is a common tactic, but looks really weird with no explanation as to why, for some. @Vaevictis above actually explained it really well: By blowing up the road you force convoys to divert off the road, this disrupts the movement of vehicles and affords brilliant ambush opportunities. Forcing them into pre-mined open and flat terrain is a textbook counter to mechanised columns. It's a tried and tested tactic, it allows the mines in the fields to do their work while also creating predicable paths for the disrupted convoy to be channelled into, making them sitting ducks for both the mines and ATGM systems. You seem to think tracks = can drive over any terrain and that is simply not the case. Boggy and sodden ground makes even tracked vehicles slow and encumbered, more likely to throw a track or become stuck. Now add a wide minefield and ATGMs into the mix and it's a recipe for disaster. You can find countless examples of footage where Ukraine has time and again used this tactic to great effect, as well as in historical conflicts such as WW2. You really should do some research into these kind of tactics, even the Taliban and insurgents perfected this during the gulfs wars as way to counter NATO columns to devastating effects through IEDs and roadblocks.

I am sure being closer to the action these Ukrainians are better advised than I am on what defensive actions to take but unless the fields either side are mined or impassably muddy that great hole in the road is not much of an impediment.
