"Robotnik" is the act-end boss theme featuring the titular villain, officially known as Eggman in the original Japanese release. I hit some writer's block with this one, which forced me to scale back my vision for the song. The expansion attempts to play up the cartoon-evil theme of the original with some dark synths and military-style triplet snares in an attempt to portray Robotnik as a fascistic supervillain. I always hated how short his theme was in this game considering that it was good, just repetetive. Thank you for fixing that ESPECIALLY RN WHILE I'M TYPING THIS AT 1:49 FOR MAKING IT DROP HARDER!!

Double-expansion! Very nice. I like the inclusion of the sliding saws. Has a Sonic Adventure aesthetic to it. The second expansion increases the tension well. I can imagine it playing on a penultimate Robotnik fight in a final act.

Thanks Ice! Yeah I am already thinking of ways to incorporate it into the final boss fight tune. May or may not work, I guess we'll see.

Now this. This makes me excited as hell. For one reason specifically. It means you'll eventually tackle Final Zone, a song I have seen NOBODY actually work to extend or rework in a way that makes it keep it's original tone. And the fact I can hear Final Zone at 0:53 tells me that I should be excited as hell for it. I am absolutely subscribing effective right now, hot damn.

awesome cover! On the one hand, we can see the side of him who hasn't been betrayed by his minions lately, and on the other hand, he has a daughter and loves her, but on the other hand, I'm happy to see the good old ivo "Eggman" robotnik again in Super Stars.

I completely forgot to listen to this one! It's a little shorter than most of your expansions, but that's okay! The original song didn't leave much to work with, and I fully understand why you hit some writer's block with Robotnik's theme; however, I am VERY impressed with what we got! Reading your pinned comment, I realize why I felt this expansion was much more menacing than the original~ Playing up the idea of Robotnik as a facistic dictator is not too far off from the visions of his future in Sonic SatAM, and so that was an excellent choice to lean into I loved the slight echo you added to the main melody - it makes the song sound much fuller and epic. Also, the militaristic triplet drums, as you call them, and harsh synth you added (especially starting at 0:37) give the song a mechanical feel - which screams "Robotnik" at every turn! 1:49 That final expansion was the icing on the cake - it seems like this is it for Sonic! Why wasn't THIS in the movies? Oh well, they were great on their own anyways Side note: interesting how the flames don't spread across the platforms in the Marble Zone section of the video at 0:37... I originally thought it was a screen limitation, but it happened every time with no flickering sprites... weird

I never get tired of reading your song rundowns, Dr. Volk! Great takes! The flames glitch you mentioned was an oversight on my part. I shut off the sprite layer that controlled the flames by accident, which is why they didn't show up. Oh well!

Yeah, I agree: "Robotnik" is very difficult to improve! I've been listening to your track several times and, in my opinion, it turned out quite well. But the First Expansion is quite sharp, which is knocked out of the full track. It would sound good as an intro, but definitely not in the middle. But The Second Extension Is A Direct Hit! An excellent transition to the inspiration, no, to the triumph of Eggman, elevating his Evil Nature! And here's how the march is... Not really: slow pace for the march. I have now increased the Playback Speed to 1.1 and I already feel the track as a march. I think I should have made the track a little faster. And so... Quite well.
