This masterpiece has saved my life. Seriously, I've been struggling with my mental health for over 15 years. I had a terrible childhood filled with sexual abuse, verbal, emotional, and physical abuse, substance abuse and neglect. I've been through a billion programs for my mental health for half my life also. But this song almost cured me lol. And I love to sing also, but never really did anything with it until I heard this. It inspired me to start my music and I've been writing ever since. I'm more proactive with my dream now and my goals in life in general. And I'm continuing my therapy and I started praying more even though I am not religious. But I know there is a higher power. I'm wise enough to know I don't know everything. Before I found out about his illness... I was admiring him for outstanding acting skills and I'm ashamed now. He's definatelly one of a kind. Very talented and expressive... this song swept me of my feet. I didn't realize it was all based on his experience. I admire people who can fight their demons and more of that... He delivered a great song. For me it's a song about how to take all the bad in your life and turn it to strength and pure art

He's the real deal.Last week in a Canadian hospital having a brain op to try and sort out some of the mental issues caused by a tick bite. Ten years of pain and being bed riddin up and out back to bedridden over and over. His problems were none stop 24/7. The video cost him a thousand pounds. Born In Bangor N Wales near where I live but he moved to England opposite of what I did. I'm 70 years old so I don't listen to rap not my kind of thing. The only time I hear youngsters putting out music is in the car when it's full of kids and grandkids. I'm driving them all mad now playing this song at home on my computer. This guy is an artistic genius.

I just heard about Ren myself and I am amazed and speechless. I've checked out some of his other stuff in the past couple of days and he is amazing. His voice alone is angelic and then his artistry, storytelling, poetry, musical talent all combine to paint a picture in your mind and evoke all these emotions as you go along on the journey. I am captivated. The one everyone is recommending - The Tale of Jenny & Screech - is top tier storytelling, better than any movie I've watched in the past few years and its just a guy with a guitar. From what I heard, and it was confirmed by Ren, it was one take, they needed 4 try's to get the final one-shot playtrough. Hats off not only to Ren, but also to all of his friends that worked on the project. Ren said it cost them less than a thousand Dollars/Euros to film, edit and mix the end-product. I consider this amazing when you realize how much money is spent on a way less authentic and interesting Video from a big label with loads spent on production, advertisement and such. ***** Insert standing ovation here! *****

The flickering of the lights definitely ties to the chaos of the demon in his mind... I think the intro and outro (what would you call it, yodelling?) parts connote the feeling of conflict/insanity also... Its a great piece of performance art. The guitar perfectly matches the mood of the singing/rapping at every moment.

I truly enjoyed your reaction and comments. I just learned about Ren a few days ago and have gone down this rabbit hole ever since. I can personally relate to many of his songs, and they deeply touch me. Ren is an incredible and unique artist; he plays multiple instruments and has great vocal ability. I recommend you check out some of his other work. The trilogy "The Tale of Jenny," "Screech," and "Violet" is haunting; watch them in the stated order, as this is the flow of the storyline. His song "Money Game" (Part I & II) is another recommendation. If you like his personal reflections, they are threaded through many of his songs, which all deserve a listen; "Insomnia," "Depression," Diazepam," his "Freckled Angels" album, just to name a few. Ren performs a range of genres, but mostly hip-hop or guitar-based ballads, as a solo act. His collaborations with Sam Tompkins, Chinchilla, and his performances as a member of the band "The Big Push" (which unfortunately broke up) are awesome and well worth checking out. Ren has impressive vocal and instrumental skills. He is one-of-a-kind.
