I'm going to try it over the next few nights and see if I can't remember more of my dreams! It is so interesting that people can have such different experiences with one herb... Since I started drinking mugwort tea before bed, I've slept like the dead, woke up sooner and very refreshed. One day I skipped it, had very poor sleep, and even overslept... I never stopped since.

@@robsdiscovery for sure! If you ever try mugwort again on your channel, please do share your dreams :) That's super cool (and spooky) that it became difficult to differentiate dream from reality! For sure, if anything happens when I take mugwort tonight, I'll drop a note on how it went :-) I agree with that! Plants are very psychic and they express it through silence and beauty. I have 12 plants in my room (unfortunately I'm not at forest garden status yet XD) and I believe that we all protect each other and can connect and communicate in some ways, it's important to be receptive to their botanical messages >:)

I think there are some of us who are meant to live the way you do Rob. Designed to in real terms. We are out of place where we are. It's good to see you here like this. I love Mugwort. I use it as an herb to burn. I've contemplated using it as a tea, but I'm now on medication for ADHD and I don't think it would be wise. I'm very glad I did not do so, as I am quite sensitive to things myself. That said, this was food for thought. Dreams can be quite extraordinary things even without Mugwort tea. Is there a difference in picking it super fresh and green vs. when the weather changes? The Mugwort in my yard has turned brown for winter. It still smells really sweet. I tried drying it out in my oven with then brewing it into a tea, but I feel as though I did not get the same effects you did. My husband picked on me and told me the tea would make me see ghosts.... Needless to say I was spooked regardless of the faint feelings of nothing.
@robsdiscovery3 жыл бұрын
There is a difference, yes. Every herb, fruit or flower has its optimum harvesting time and mugwort is no exception. It really is at its most potent just before it's about to flower (which may be a different time where you are) and the leaves will contain more oils when the moon is rising (during the first two weeks of its 28 day cycle). That's not to say it won't have any effect as it is now. Also, it effects everyone differently depending how sensitive you are to things. Taking myself as an example, a sip of even weak coffee any more than ten hours before bed means I won't sleep! So that why it probably worked so well first time and with so few leaves. And as for the ghosts.. Well, let us know what happens! 👻🤷🏻♂️😄

Thank you for your kind compliments, JennLynn 😊 Although I'm getting quite good at helping things to grow I know so very little about many of their uses. I've read about mugwort & lavender pillows, which is which I gave them a brief mention in the video, but still have not got around to making or using one yet! It'll still be a few more months until then next mugwort harvest anyway so plenty of time to plan for such things 😌 All I used last year were those three little leaves in the video 🍃😄 I do like the idea of adding plenty of honey 🍯 I feel it would be a justifiable reason to use it for something as ceremonial as that 😁

@@robsdiscovery Yes sir, you deserve them😊 It's one of my favorite things to find a plant, herb or flower I want to work with and find out can I eat it, use it in a tea, tincture, poultice, incense etc. I plant wild flowers and a small garden in the summer ; I love doing it. It has to be a bit exhausting for you to live off the land but how rewarding! So many people are disconnected from their food and the natural world now it seems. You're a different kind😊 It's a pleasure to speak with you. XX

Thank you again, JennLynn 😊 And likewise, a pleasure speaking with you also. I agree about the disconnection, yes. Encouraging reconnection is one of the motivating factors behind continuing to make the videos. It can indeed be a bit exhausting at times but a the kind of satisfied exhaustion that only follows what feels like truly worthwhile work 😌 Which makes it less tiresome, if that makes sense? 😄

@@robsdiscovery It makes perfect sense. That's a great motivation to have, regarding the encouragement of reconnection. That's beautiful. 😊 I have to say I'm slightly jealous as I'm in the states, working a "9-5" Monday-Friday job, doing the rat race. I often wondered if I would enjoy living as you do before I decided my path. I imagine your day to day is no vacation, but a slower, more deliberate living of life has to impact you positively. Thank you for sharing some of the adventure so I can live vicariously through you. 😉

You're most welcome. I enjoy sharing it 😊 I'd like to be able to a little more really,though it's more difficult to make videos in the winter. This time of year is as interesting as the rest (to me at least 😄) but much of the short days are taken up with wintery tasks. Today for example collecting water (because the pipes are frozen from not burying them deep enough 🤦🏻♂️) and dealing with firewood to keep water after dark. Could you not alter your path if you wished? I don't mean it'd be easy but you make it sound rather fixed 😄

I don't find listening to people's dreams boring. I am fascinated by them. I am completely charmed by you. Would love to hear your dreams.

Thank you very much, Sara. I suppose I had to assume that most people wouldn't want to hear but seeing as so many people have asked maybe we should set up a special dream telling/interpreting group or something! 😄

Thank you very much, Jasmin! That's just the little boost I needed this morning 🤗 I'm making another video today about installing solar panels. It's not quite as exciting as the mugwort video, unless you're really into off grid power systems 😄 Thanks for subscribing and I hope you find some other videos on this channel to your liking 😊

Yes, You had me at "I know my own body, quite well", which is so Key in life. Bam, I Subbed! Came here to learn more about MW and if I can find mugwort in wild. My one friend, she made a candy from it by powder sugar coating, may have used egg dip and baked slightly., idk, I'll have to ask her. But they were good, I ate a few as they were leaved stems, chewed on stems after eating all the leaves.
