My Mom is also 77 and I can’t get her to stream movies, much less come onto KZbin. She had gone to the library and rented the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, and then told me she had an awesome new band for me to hear called Queen. I then bought her an Apple Box to stream, but she insists on getting her content from the library. 😂😂😂

Hi Guys, thanks for the memories. I grew up in south Louisana, though I live in Florida now. I remember a lot of teenage nights listening to this on the jukebox at the B&B burger stand next to my old Jr. High School. All the Football players and cheerleaders would end up there after winning a big game. It was always a great atmosphere with a mix of genres playing through those speakers. Everything from Mel Mcdaniel and Kenny Rodgers to vintage Micheal Jackson, Def Leppard, and Journey. Felt like 1983 all over again. Another great song to check out sometime would be New Orleans Ladies by Larouxe. Keep up the great work. You guys are bringing a lot of folks joy in a time of difficulty.

For another great country “Saturday” song check out Small Town Saturday Night by Hal Ketchum. Amber, being a small town country girl, should be especially drawn to it. There’s a Mel McDaniel song you have to listen to but you have to listen to 3 different versions. The song is Stand Up. It was recorded by Mel, The Kingsmen Quartet & The Band. All three versions are the same song but very different.

Stand up is also done by The Bama Band, on their 1985 solo album. The Bama Band is Hank Jr’s back up band, he let them cut an album of their own songs.

@@Georgia_Outlaw_Vinyl Yeah man, “Stand up” I had it on cassette when it was first released, I wore that tape out. The whole album is dynamite country outlaw, I mean it is Hank Jr’s band. Now remember it was 1985 so it’s that type of country outlaw. It would be well worth looking up on line to find it & listen to. In fact I just drug my copy out of mothballs & I’m cranking it now. It’s still relevant. Enjoy.

Great pick!❤❤ If you want to do Toby Keith, start with “How Do You Like Me Now”; If you want to do a Carrie Underwood song, start with her first - “Jesus Take The Wheel”; Another Okie you haven’t done is Blake Shelton, start out with his first hit - “Austin”; can’t go wrong with any of these!!❤❤ Another artist you haven’t done is Roy Clark; not an Okie by birth, he was born in Virginia, but he lived in Tulsa for the last 40 or so years of his life; a premier guitarist, fiddler and banjo player. Hard to pick an opener for him, but I’ll go with his version of “Folsom Prison Blues”, kings of a comedic take on the Johnny Cash classic with some of his guitar tricks; the 1964 version from The Jimmy Dean Show in glorious black & white is a good intro!❤️❤️❤️❤️

You get down the Fiddle and you get down the bow. You play the fiddle with a bow. You have no idea how true this song is when you're raised up in real Cajun Country. My House as a kid. Grandparents spoke Cajun French and Broken English. Saturday Night, kinfolks and friends show up, boil crawfish, women cooking something else that was caught or shot while hunting, lots of beer for the adults and soda pop for the kids, 4 or 5 people show up with instruments and play music, people dancing barefoot or even in rubber boots. Front porch lights, and white Christmas lights strung up for extra light in the yard. Kids playing until they get tired and fall asleep somewhere. Everybody goes home and we all see each other at out little church the next morning. They were good times. You guys should react to his hit "Big Ole Brew". It was a Country Radio staple back in the 80's.
