Bob Seger and Silver Bullet Band was my Moms(RIP MOM LOVE YOU) All Time Favorite! I remember this old, GIGANTIC,turn table stereo system my Mom had. And Bob cranked to the Gods, and her dancing and vacuuming at same time. “Her Strut” was one of her favorites. She passed on her bday, Feb 7th 2021. Made us promise to take her out of hospital, after Covid hit her. She knew they would not allow her kids,and grandkids to be with her. We all were vaxed, with gloves and masks. Lots of oxygen. Spoke to us all one by one. Then altogether. She knew she was dying. But she did it on HER TERMS. She will forever be my Hero! So thank you guys for playing this. To me, this is a “Ghost Kiss”. Her bday is in just a few weeks.💙😇

Her Strut and Fire Lake are two of my favorite Bob Segar songs. I also love "Like a Rock." It's a very sentimental song. The lines "20 years, where'd they go?" "20 years, I don't know." Hits me every time I hear it. Time goes by so fast when your young, but you don't realize it until decades later. It's like "I was young once, what happened?!" Lol! Enjoy your youth kids, because it will be over in a flash! ❤

Been following Bob since 1969. Used to see him playing small clubs in Cleveland. Yep...Strut is a rocker! If you want to check some early Bob please put "Lucifer" on your list. It's from the Mongrel album, 1970. You'll get a chance to hear Bob way before he was a mega star and before the Silver Bullet Band. Jay, love ya, but watching Amber react to all your content is like heaven to me. Amber you always put a huge smile on this old musician dude's face. Love you both. Oh...congratulations on the 500K mark. Been a fan of you for quite a few years and I ain't goin' anywhere else! Peace and love to all my family here. God bless.

I was in college at the time and ran out and bought this album when it came out in 1980. It was kind of a turning point for Bob going from the 70s into the 80s. He hit us with a rocker with "Her strut" but at the same time he was delving more into a country direction as well, with the title track "Against The Wind" and "Fire Lake"
@shyman99

As a big fan of "Stranger In Town", I was highly anticipating "Against The Wind". But did not care so much for the first two singles, "Fire Lake" And "Against The Wind". I finally heard "Her Strut" as an album cut and it totally saved this album. Then two other decent songs were released, "You'll Accompany Me" and "Horizontal Bop".

I have been suggesting this one FOREVER--so glad you finally got to hear this side of Seger! ♥ Bob wrote this song about Jane Fonda, and while some nowadays see it as a bit sexist, Jane took it as the compliment it was intended to be--a description of an independent, confident, sexy woman. And I love the clever double entendre: "They do respect her but(t).." lol. For another high-energy Seger song, please check out "Rock 'n Roll Never Forgets" next!

@@shyman99 the following is from Wikipedia...Seger has also stated that "Her Strut" was inspired by political activist Jane Fonda and her appearance before the Campaign for Economic Democracies.[5][9][10] He stated "I was quite proud of her for doing that. I admired her crust. For going in there and having the strength to speak her mind, so I kind of wrote 'Her Strut' for an '80s woman ... you know, it was the dawn of the '80s, and I wanted to write a song about how women have become so confident and stepped out so much, and I thought Jane was a great role model."[5] AXS critic Jeff Wallace feels that Seger succeeded in his objective stating that the song tells of "a strong independent woman and how she won't be controlled by anyone."[9] Fonda has claimed to be flattered by the song, stating that "you’ll know why when you hear the lyrics."[......he may not spell Seger correctly but it seems his facts are right on point

Thanks a million for responding to this one. My stepdad got me hooked on the amazing tunes of Mr. Bob Seger. Unfortunately my stepdad passed away in August of 2023 due to a medical condition he had been battling for nearly 4 years. This was a fantastic banger to him and me. We both loved it. The guitar solo is terrific on the studio recording but loses a bit live because it is played by a different person. Still one of his most overlooked songs. It's too bad because the studio recording has plenty of power. Thanks again ❤

In 1975 while in college my neighbor told me I had to hear this guy because I would like it. My neighbor liked disco so I didnt think I would but I gave it a listen and I've been a big fan ever after. This is my favorite song by Bob Seger. Try " Get out of Denver or his cover of Nutbush city limits, Rambling gambling man or Rock and Roll never forgets.

Song was a tribute to Jane Fonda and her walk in Barbellera. Saw him live in the 80's twice. The man was awesome.

This is probably my favorite Seger song. It just kicks a$$. Have you reacted to his Come To Papa? Also rocks. As does Katmandu and Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight. That last one makes me smile & brings crazy girls-night-out memories from the 80s. Hahaha. Blessings❤

Bob Seger, the first album I ever remember hearing in my life. My Dad would play it. My dad was an alcoholic. My parents divorced when I was 5. For some reason Bob Seger always reminds me of good times because my parents were together. Although I had a bad relationship with my Dad overall . He drank himself to death at the age of 39. He was never there for me when I needed. He taught me how to be an amazing farther by doing what he did not do. I did not go to his funeral nor did I cry when he passed. I do understand he suffered from a disease and his father my grandpa a Korean war vet who suffered PTSD and pushed my dad into his bad habits that lead to his early end.

From my favorite Bob Seger album "Against The Wind". I wore out that 8-track in my car! Other good songs on just that album is "Betty Lou Is Goin Out Tonight", "Horizontal Bop", and "No Man's Land". Heck, I liked all the songs on the LP. Thanks. 😎

My favourite rocking Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band song has to be the live version of Let It Rock, it is on 2 separate live albums Live Bullet and Nine Tonight. Both versions are definite rockers, it's an extended cover of a Chuck Berry classic track. I'm pretty sure you both will love it and find it a new found favourite!!

one of Bob's best tunes. saw him do it live many times. always jammin'. (and fun fact: the #1 song amongst strippers worldwide) more good Seger > 'travlin' man/beautiful loser' from "Live Bullet", one of the best showcases of drumming ever. and of course Bob's vocals.

Nice to see Bob back on the channel. This is a great one. Along with Her Strut there were some other rockers on the Against The Wind album: The Horizontal Bop and Long Twin Silver Line. You already did Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight from this album and The Fire Down Below from Night Moves. Some other Bob suggestions are Nutbush City Limits, Come To Poppa and The Famous Final Scene. Also check out Ramblin' Gamblin' Man from his first album in 1968. Enjoy!
