Bob Seger and Silver Bullet Band was my Moms(RIP MOM LOVE YOU) All Time Favorite! I remember this old, GIGANTIC,turn table stereo system my Mom had. And Bob cranked to the Gods, and her dancing and vacuuming at same time. “Her Strut” was one of her favorites. She passed on her bday, Feb 7th 2021. Made us promise to take her out of hospital, after Covid hit her. She knew they would not allow her kids, and grandkids to be with her. We all were vaxed, with gloves and masks. Lots of oxygen. Spoke to us all one by one. Then altogether. She knew she was dying. But she did it on HER TERMS. She will forever be my Hero! So thank you guys for playing this. To me, this is a “Ghost Kiss”. Her bday is in just a few weeks.💙😇

Her Strut and Fire Lake are two of my favorite Bob Segar songs. I also love "Like a Rock." It's a very sentimental song. The lines "20 years, where'd they go?" "20 years, I don't know." Hits me every time I hear it. Time goes by so fast when your young, but you don't realize it until decades later. It's like "I was young once, what happened?!" Lol! I was in college at the time and ran out and bought this album when it came out in 1980. It was kind of a turning point for Bob going from the 70s into the 80s. He hit us with a rocker with "Her strut" but at the same time he was delving more into a country direction as well, with the title track "Against The Wind" and "Fire Lake"

I have been suggesting this one FOREVER--so glad you finally got to hear this side of Seger! ♥ Bob wrote this song about Jane Fonda, and while some nowadays see it as a bit sexist, Jane took it as the compliment it was intended to be--a description of an independent, confident, sexy woman. I admired her crust. For going in there and having the strength to speak her mind, so I kind of wrote 'Her Strut' for an '80s woman ... you know, it was the dawn of the '80s, and I wanted to write a song about how women have become so confident and stepped out so much, and I thought Jane was a great role model."[5] AXS critic Jeff Wallace feels that Seger succeeded in his objective stating that the song tells of "a strong independent woman and how she won't be controlled by anyone."[9] Fonda has claimed to be flattered by the song, stating that "you’ll know why when you hear the lyrics."[......he may not spell Seger correctly but it seems his facts are right on point

For some reason Bob Seger always reminds me of good times because my parents were together. Although I had a bad relationship with my Dad overall . He drank himself to death at the age of 39. He was never there for me when I needed. He taught me how to be an amazing farther by doing what he did not do. I did not go to his funeral nor did I cry when he passed. I do understand he suffered from a disease and his father my grandpa a Korean war vet who suffered PTSD and pushed my dad into his bad habits that lead to his early end.

That was such a heavy guitar riff back then. Much more rock than anything else.

One of my favorites by Seger. Love that guitar solo in the middle of the song. Also have a soft spot for his song" Main Street".

If you liked this side of Bob, you must follow up and partner this one with Come to Poppa! 🔥 Love the double meaning of the line Oh, they do respect her but(t). 😂 Great reaction!
