"All by Myself" is a song by American singer-songwriter Eric Carmen released in 1975. The verse is based on the second movement (Adagio sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's circa 1900-1901 Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18. The chorus was taken from the song "Let's Pretend", which Carmen wrote and recorded with the Raspberries in 1972.[5] The slide guitar solo was performed by studio guitarist Hugh McCracken.[6]

"All By Myself" didn't top the charts. It peaked at #4 on Billboard 100. Only "Power of Love," "Because You Loved Me," "My Heart Will Go On," and "I'm Your Angel" (her duet with R. Kelly) topped the charts.

david foster produced "the power of love" and he used reverb and delay on celine's vocals. you can hear her voice echo with the thick reverb in the silence at the end of the line "because i'm your lady..." vocal effects are the norm in popular music, frequently used in the studio recordings and on the stage for live performances by most artists, certainly not just celine. we've acclimated to the sound of vocals with effects and often don't realize it. anyway just thought i'd explain...celine's performance is tremendous!

Celine was considered at the time she emerged as “. The new Streisand”. You’ve only done one Streisand song too. Please do Evergreen by her. Bette Midler’s The Rose is exquisite. , Another vocalist in the same league is Lara Fabian. A voice like Celine’s but who was kept out of the US market by Celine’s dominance and so she went and became a star in Europe. Her voice is breathtaking. If you are willing to listen to songs in French (well, you did Spanish for Linda after all) please listen to Je Suis Malade. Chills.

If you do Je Suis Malade which I have requested before, please do the version with English and French subtitles on the screen
@lenstgelais73762 жыл бұрын
Well that’s a lie Celine hasn’t done anything to Lara Fabian career Lara herself would tell that it was because it was too much for her back then the American market and also fell in in a depression because she separated with her boyfriend that is the real truth about that moment in time

By the way it’s the story of Lara Fabian all her life being always behind Céline Dion you may not like it but it’s the truth 🤷♂️plane and simple

You want to hear more great love songs? React to Roberta Flack's "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (album version on "First Take") You will be mesmerized by her voice and this song. Next react to "With You I'm Born Again", a duet with Billy Preston and Syretta Wright.(1979 Top of The Pops Live Version). The most beautiful duet I've ever heard. You already reacted to Billy Preston's "Nothing from Nothing". Here he is very different. You won't be sorry with either song.

Another Canadian power house singer, whatever she sings it always has something in it no matter if she sings in English or French. Plus she has a great sense of humour about life and herself. She can do it all, her duets with others are always outstanding. Good choice. 🍺😎☀️🇨🇦

Celine Dion is amazing. When I first discovered her, all her albums were in French. She didn't speak English yet. I would buy her CDs at a music shop in Toronto every chance I got. I think it's been said she has perfect pitch. I wouldn't be surprised if that's true. Her voice has only gotten better as she's grown into herself. Once she learned English and started releasing albums in English, her career really took off. If you ever get a chance to listen to any of her songs in French, I highly recommend it. They are amazing to listen to even if you don't understand the language. She's just that good. My favorite is Et Je T'Aime Encore. Another great song in French is Je Danse dans Ma Tête. Her most famous French song is probably Pour que Tu M'aimes Encore. As for English songs, there are so, so many! I would agree with those who suggested It's All Coming Back To Me Now, The Prayer, and Tell Him. All great songs. Other songs to start with might include the following: I Drove All Night River Deep, Mountain High Because You Loved Me Where Does My Heart Beat Now That's The Way It Is Just Walk Away All By Myself
