I used to fish there loads around 2006/7. Might have to give it another visit soon for some winter sport. I preferred Gils as it used to be stuffed with silvers.

That’s good to know Rob. Last time I fished a match there was mid-winter and I blanked on Trotters...not a bite. Proper spat my dummy out and vowed never to go again. It’s time for me to get back definitely :-)

It's great that a legend like your self is giving tips to us novices love the working tub and the stopwatch ideas but would you think to get the bigger fish it's best to scale up Loved watching the vid by the way.
@RobWootton4 жыл бұрын
My theory with a method feeder is its best to use your loose feed and feeder size to catch bigger fish rather than the hook bait .... I’ll be back on a warmer day and hopefully some bigger lads are feeding

@neilwatt54974 жыл бұрын
@@simonchaddock3694 Hello Simon, Middy Tackle International only specify a Weight of 815g at 13 metres but from my knowledge on the bank it's a great bit of kit to use. It's a different Carbon Fusion and has power.. .
@brianwelbourne98964 жыл бұрын
Do you think as you are putting a fresh pellet on every time that the fish like the pellet slightly softer and the 5 to 8 mins for a bite is because the pellet was hard when you first cast in. I am no professional just an old git but I often leave the pellet on for a second or third fish....
@RobWootton4 жыл бұрын
I like ther way you’re thinking Brian... I always change the pellet as sometimes I think they aren’t keen on a hard pellet, it’s a habit I’ve got in to .... maybe a bad habit ?
@brianwelbourne98964 жыл бұрын
@@RobWootton It was just a thought as I often have a few pre soaked pellets on the side and use a pellet bander to band them, often in different flavours as I think sometimes they like the pellet a bit "fluffy" before taking it. Keep the videos coming as I have learned a lot from you. Thank you.

Match anglers have ruined holly farm. I was a member and a constant visitor. Then it was taken over and new owner was only interested in matches ( making more money ) I fished there for approx 8 years, but once the matches started , it went down hill. There were days I’d go and couldn’t fish due to match on Trotters and Gills. Shame
