Every time a person we know passes away, his first reaction is always like “that could’ve been me!!” No sympathy for others whatsoever. Meri would have forgiven her not coming to the funeral if she had of at least called her. Robyn couldn’t even bring herself to call, if I am interpreting this correctly. A call would have been the least Robyn could have done & the bare minimum would have been a text, but silence is a completely different sort of thing. No card, call, text or flowers does not make a person a friend. They are at the very least an acquaintance. I’ve done way more than what Robyn has done for Meri over the years for people I wouldn’t throw water on if they were on fire.

Robyn has never been a friend to Meri, nor has she ever been a Sister Wife to any of them. Pre-Robyn, they worked as a family (albeit a dysfunctional one). The children were siblings and acted as such and the women functioned as a unit. After Robyn, that all changed. Not only did she manipulate & monopolize Kody’s time, she destroyed the family unit and made each relationship & corresponding children, separate. She made Kody prioritize her & her kids and guilted the other wives into believing she deserved more while trying to convince them she wasn’t actually getting more. 🙄

I’ve been watching the series again the last few weeks and I had seen everyone saying to Dr Kirk Honda of psychology in Seattle that the drama really starts in season 14, and I remembered similarly, and now rewatching I’m seeing a lot more around season 11-12 is a lot more anger and hostility from Kody than I remembered, and several times that Robyn says things obviously to irritate or make herself look better than the others, and I am both not at all surprised by that behavior from both of them, and extremely shocked that I didn’t notice it two-ish years ago when I last watched the series. Granted I was not in a good place myself, but I’m surprised by how little I remember noticing the attitude changes in Kody and Robyn from watching it just two years ago.

❤ I couldn’t agree ore with your point about the patterns Robyn has demonstrated! In the case of Meri’s mother passing away, I just want to add two points: (1) Robyn’s “little” kids are late elementary and middle school aged. My daughter is the same age. There’s no reason that they couldn’t stay home with their older siblings for a few days, Robyn is just trying (poorly) to come up with an excuse. And we’ve seen recent photos of them at the mall with Mindi, so there was yet another option… 2) Meri moving to the BnB as soon as she divorced proved to me that she 100% would have spent those final years with her mother if Kody had just ended things with her. I think that it’s unbelievably cruel for him to have taken that from Meri.

I have a theory that Robyn being “sick” is her not taking care of a thyroid condition. Either way, if she is always staying in bed all day and claiming to be sick so much, she needs to see a doctor. A real doctor. A medical doctor. She went to the hospital so it’s not like she is completely opposed to doctors. Just my opinion. I have a thyroid condition and if I don’t take my meds, I feel terrible. So I take them. Also prevents my neck from swelling up like Robyn’s often seems to be doing.

I agree bc Robber & a few family members seem to self diagnose conditions ie Dayton was, from everything she’d *read* Asperger syn. It’s only come out in recent years in the press somewhere, that Robs says she has autoimmune problems that flare up under stress - like Christine leaving Kody, or living the double life of sister wife or sister thief creating others’ strife? It coincided w when they did the most of their wall and sculpture displaying on the inside of their “we’ll come to the door but you can’t come inside” filming - which by then camera crews had long since returned. For me, how she’d mention she’d talked to their doctor about how to manage the covid spreading risk in the earliest months of breakouts - was insane. I still had my nursing license current & no self respecting MD would advise the horse manure list of extras that came later and rationale about who the biggest risks in the family were. I need to go to Nikki’s list on Robs’ shading others and add Janelle’s name. Also how on earth does Aurora have all of those panic attacks, minimum w/out a psychiatrist dx w an RX, plus therapy from an lcsw or psychologist? Where are the professionals she should be employing instead of yelling at Kody, not to give her kids panic attacks and then allow him to cradle carry Aurora up the stairs? Oh wait, Robs probably holds an honorary doctorate from ‘Phoenix’ University in Psychology. She obviously has thyroid and probably other imbalances, the least of which would require an endocrinologist. So your theory may very well be the best but when do we agree it all began? Not even being snarky, just an honest question.

Meanwhile robyn couldnt go to that but she had just come back from her 11 day honeymoon that was so necessary . You dont get 11,day honeymoons in polygamy ever .

Kody did not isolate himself for 14 days upon returning. He didn’t for Janelle’s mom months before. When Christmas almost ruined. He went immediately home to Robyn after the funeral and picked up Ari and kissed Robyn.

He did that after taking the rapid Covid test. Btw, it wouldn’t show him being a vector or if self testing was a few days too early before symptoms appeared. His mantra was “I promised them I’d be home in time for Christmas”. His home, the legally wedded only property that everyone would need to come to. Ironically, the safest largest gathering space was likely at Meri’s giant rental, which was later shot down the by Robs the following year for Christmas Eve after the unsafe boys might start a fight post Christmas gift exchange zoom family text fiasco. Robber stole Christmas Eve from Meri because they had already instituted who had the husband, father and power wife, established by KRody. God I wish that purchase had never gone through - just for the pure entertainment sake, so Robyn finds and sacrifices with a smaller rental, just like Janelle.

@@laurieerickson7205 no he didn’t. He took the rapid test as did they all before gathering in a big group. They didn’t really have over the counter. You were to a special testing site or sat in Walgreens parking lot finding out the answer. This was just before Xmas of 2020 he didn’t isolate when he was with Janelle out of state for his second mom’s funeral. He explained they could all gather cause they test. I recall the time and a few days before Thanksgiving my mom went to a testing site to make sure she was fine before we had Thanksgiving. It was approved by FDA mid December. But you would not really see them in stores until January.

@ rapid at home antigen testing was available in Nov 2020, you could purchase boxes at the pharmacy before the feds sent them for free. I’d have to do an exact rewatch of the day Janelle and he returned, but honestly in 2020 people were going to Walgreens & mass testing areas a lot for pre travel. You could also get it done in urgent care or an ER for instant results. Edited: in fact I found the episode when Janelle’s mother dies AND she reveals to Robs she has discovered the at home Rapid Tests. Maybe search it?

Maybe go back I found the proof I’m correct. I had friends who traveled for business and got them OTC before they were available for free from the government

@@laurieerickson7205 you called a number to find out if you should and then made an appt or waited in a long time. You were supposed to take if symptoms. Yes I realize they all had the test but they were also supposed to not travel, wipe mail, etc.. and if they didn’t follow the rules in his head quarantine for two weeks. It was hard to find. They just approved the otc test mid Dec. the website I found that out is going away next month cause it was so long ago. Then they had to manufacture them and ship them out. No one could walk in and get 5-7 of them. They didn’t even quarantine then. The mom died first week in December. Mid December said last week she died. Kody didn’t know about the tests or would not have made everyone wipe mail for 2 weeks prior to Xmas. He was just finding an excuse to why he didn’t have to quarantine away from Robyn. Robyn said March 2021 they both could not quarantine after getting back. She would not have quarantined just like Kody didn’t in December of 2020. Kody didn’t quarantine in March of 2021 when he went.

Robyn doesn't want to put in any effort to maintain relationships other than with her children and Kody. I'm lazy when it comes to relationships but if the mother of someone I love died I would be there for them. I would have done something. Perhaps Robyn was afraid of traveling during COVID but there was no discussion of her having done anything to support Meri. Drop off food, coffee dates in the yard, video chats while Meri was away, anything.

I would have liked Meri to mention this BACK IN season 17 rather than 3 years later. Also, I would have liked TLC to mention that Janelle went, but Kody asked Christine not to attend. That says a lot about their family dynamics. They keep feeding us little snippets, sometimes in conflict with previous episodes. And btw, Meri doesn’t mention how much she appreciated Janelle’s support at the funeral, just that she was pissed with R. That makes Meri look petty. Maybe it was just bad editing.
